NHL DFS Lineups: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks (3/6/25)

Connor McDavid - NHL DFS lineup picks daily fantasy hockey

Jon Irvin's NHL DFS picks for today's contests on FanDuel and DraftKings. Use Jon's picks to win money playing NHL DFS on 3/6/25.

Hey, RotoBallers! I want to introduce myself formally. My name is Jon Irvin. Some of you may know me from the Discord channels, and you know I love breaking down DFS slates, especially in MLB and NHL. I enjoy deep dumpster diving, so to speak, and look forward to helping find the low-owned, overlooked, and unwanted plays.

I predominantly play on DraftKings, so some of my picks are more tailored to their point/price system, but a good spot is a good spot regardless of platform.

Welcome back, my friends, to the show that never ends. We're so glad you could attend. Come inside! Today's DFS content will be for the main slate for both DraftKings and FanDuel for Thursday, March 6th, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. EST. We have a nice 9-game slate tonight featuring several of the top-scoring offenses as well as a few teams with surging metrics that may allow them to fly under the radar. Let's dig in!

DraftKings and FanDuel NHL DFS Picks: First Look Stats

After reading this, jump into the RotoBaller Discord NHL channel and chat about today's slate with all the other great minds. Don’t forget to check out our valuable NHL tools, including the NHL DFS Heat Map. I've begun to implement my personal trend chart. This looks at the average between the L25 and L10, weighing the L10 heavier to help find certain positive or negative trends.

DraftKings and FanDuel Goalies - NHL DFS Picks

Value in net is key on DK with a three-point bonus at the 35-save mark. We can afford to give up an extra goal or two if our goalie can see a steady shot volume against him. Those extra few hundred can get us those top-line forwards.

Connor Hellebuyck - DK $8.0K || FD $8.1K

Opponent - Philadelphia Flyers

Finding value on tonight's slate is especially hard with our netminder. Running Helly errors on the side of safety at a slight discount. In conversation as the best goalie so far this year, Connor shouldn't have too much of a problem versus the Flyers even on the road.

Others to consider: Andrei Vasilevskiy (DK $8.1K || FD $8.0K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NHL DFS Picks

 Jack McBain - DK $2.6K || FD $4.0K

Opponent - Detroit Red Wings

Utah is one of those teams I mentioned earlier with surging metrics. Over the L10 games, Utah's shots have increased including more scoring and high-danger chances leading to a rise in xGF.

Utah's third line, centered by Jack McBain, comes in tonight with impressive numbers over the last 9 games. With ample TOI 5v5, this line is also fully correlated on the 2nd PP unit. Paving the way for more opportunities against a suspect Red Wings defense.  This line is the perfect punt filler line to jam in your studs like McDavid and MacKinnon who are both in smash spots.

Others to consider: Matty Beniers (DK $4.9K || FD $5.7K )

DraftKings and FanDuel Wings - NHL DFS Picks

 Zach Hyman - DK $6.0K || FD $6.7K

Opponent - Montreal Canadians

Value in potential and expectation is the story with Hyman and the rest of Edmonton's top line. Hosting Montreal is usually what the doctor orders for any team to break the damn.  Zach has a flood of offensive potential ahead of him tonight so I hope the Canadians brought their life jackets.

Others to consider: Mackie Samoskevich (DK $4.0K || FD $5.0K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Defensemen - NHL DFS Picks

When selecting defensemen, especially on DK, I tend to find players with a high chance at both blocks and shots and not concentrate so much on point dependency.

Marc Del Gazio - DK $3.1K || FD $4.2K

Opponent - Seattle Kraken

With Roman Josi still on the shelf, one of my favorite value blueliners has been given another chance to shine. Del Gazio ranks 8th in today's peripheral chart making him a steal at just above 3k on DK. Active in both shots and blocks, Marc is a stat filler with extreme upside.

Alexandre Carrier - DK $3.7K || FD $4.5K

Opponent - Edmonton Oilers

Alexandre has found himself a home in Montreal. Consistently at or over the 20-minute TOI mark, Carrier has hit the block bonus in 3 straight and 4 out of the last 5 games. Tonight should set up for another opportunity at a slew of blocks when he faces Edmonton and their fleet of shooters.

Others to consider: Sean Durzi (DK $4.3K || FD $4.8K)

My top 25 defensemen chart focuses more on shot and block peripherals to find a safer floor over the last month.
