NHL DFS Lineups: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks (3/31/25)

Cale Makar - NHL DFS Picks, Daily Fantasy Hockey, NHL News

Jon Irvin's NHL DFS picks for today's contests on FanDuel and DraftKings. Use Jon's picks to win money playing NHL DFS on 3/31/25.

Hey, RotoBallers! I want to introduce myself formally. My name is Jon Irvin. Some of you may know me from the Discord channels, and you know I love breaking down DFS slates, especially in MLB and NHL. I enjoy deep dumpster diving, so to speak, and look forward to helping find the low-owned, overlooked, and unwanted plays.

I predominantly play on DraftKings, so some of my picks are more tailored to their point/price system, but a good spot is a good spot regardless of the platform.

Welcome back, my friends, to the show that never ends. We're so glad you could attend. Come inside! Today's DFS content will be for the main slate for both DraftKings and FanDuel for Monday, March 31, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. EDT. Tonight, we have a couple of games in which metrics speak a different story than records do. One of my favorite spots is the Kraken hosting a Dallas Stars team that continues to win, ignoring metrics that tell us they shouldn't be. Seattle has surging offensive metrics, while Dallas is giving up 3.13 GAA over the L10 away games.

DraftKings and FanDuel NHL DFS Picks: First Look Stats

After reading this, jump into the RotoBaller Discord NHL channel and chat about today's slate with all the other great minds. Don’t forget to check out our valuable NHL tools, including the NHL DFS Heat Map. I've begun implementing my personal trend chart. This looks at the average between the L25 and L10, weighing the L10 heavier to help find specific positive or negative trends.

DraftKings and FanDuel Goalies - NHL DFS Picks

Value in net is key on DK with a three-point bonus at the 35-save mark. We can afford to give up an extra goal or two if our goalie can see a steady shot volume against him. Those extra few hundred can get us those top-line forwards.

Filip Gustavsson - DK $7.4K || FD $7.9K

Opponent - New Jersey Devils

Erring on the side of recent metrics and road splits over recent game logs has us back on Gusty. Felix had a strong March overall, with a GAA under 2 and a .930 save percentage, and coming in at a discount compared to the other goalies on the slate is also a plus.

Others to consider: Joey Daccord (DK $7.2K || FD $7.3K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NHL DFS Picks

Michael McCarron - DK $3.1K || FD $3.8K

Opponent - Philadelphia Flyers

McCarron hasn't lit the lamp in the past 11 games, but metrics show that goals should come in time. A slight uptick in TOI nearing the 15-16 min mark is a slight positive, unfortunately lack of power-play exposure limits his ceiling.

Others to consider:  Jared McCann ( DK $5.7K || FD $5.7K  Winger on FD)

DraftKings and FanDuel Wings - NHL DFS Picks

Andre Burakovsky - DK $3.2K || FD $4.3K

Opponent- Dallas Stars

I alluded earlier to surging metrics for the Seattle Kraken, especially their third line. Although time on ice together L10 games has been limited, metrics show explosive numbers when together.

Not only is Burakovsky the cheapest option on the line, but Andre gets a huge bump with allocation on Seattle's top PP unit alongside linemate Jared McCann.

Others to consider: Jonathan Drouin (DK $4.9K || FD $6.0K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Defensemen - NHL DFS Picks

When selecting defensemen, especially on DK, I tend to find players with a high chance at both blocks and shots and not concentrate so much on point dependency.

Another slate going against the grain for me, with the value in my favorite lines, I'll be able to spend up for top defensemen. With TOI crucial, both top options tonight rarely leave the ice for their squads. Not only are minutes safe with Mackenzie Weegar and Cale Makar, but their production has led to a safe floor and slate-breaking ceiling potential.

Cale Makar - DK $7.6K || FD $7.2K

MacKenzie Weegar - DK $6.5K || FD $6.3K

Others to consider: Nick Blankenburg (DK $3.4K || FD $4.5K)

Blankenburg has been getting heavy minutes as of late, as well as allocation on PP1.

My top 25 defensemen chart focuses more on shot and block peripherals to find a safer floor over the last month.
