NHL DFS Lineups: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Hockey Picks (3/12/25)

Alex DeBrincat - Fantasy Hockey Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NHL Injury News

Jon Irvin's NHL DFS picks for today's contests on FanDuel and DraftKings. Use Jon's picks to win money playing NHL DFS on 3/12/25.

Hey, RotoBallers! I want to introduce myself formally. My name is Jon Irvin. Some of you may know me from the Discord channels, and you know I love breaking down DFS slates, especially in MLB and NHL. I enjoy deep dumpster diving, so to speak, and look forward to helping find the low-owned, overlooked, and unwanted plays.

I predominantly play on DraftKings, so some of my picks are more tailored to their point/price system, but a good spot is a good spot regardless of the platform.

Welcome back, my friends, to the show that never ends. We're so glad you could attend. Come inside! Today's DFS content will be for the main slate for both DraftKings and FanDuel for Monday, March 12, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. EST. Tonight's four-game slate is fairly lackluster in top-tier offenses, roster construction should be fairly easy since Tage Thompson is the only skater over 8k on DK. Let's dig in and find a sneaky way to the top.

DraftKings and FanDuel NHL DFS Picks: First Look Stats

After reading this, jump into the RotoBaller Discord NHL channel and chat about today's slate with all the other great minds. Don’t forget to check out our valuable NHL tools, including the NHL DFS Heat Map. I've begun implementing my personal trend chart. This looks at the average between the L25 and L10, weighing the L10 heavier to help find specific positive or negative trends.

DraftKings and FanDuel Goalies - NHL DFS Picks

Value in net is key on DK with a three-point bonus at the 35-save mark. We can afford to give up an extra goal or two if our goalie can see a steady shot volume against him. Those extra few hundred can get us those top-line forwards.

Jakub Dobes - DK $7.5K || FD $7.2K

Opponent - Seattle Kraken

Being a value article, I rarely look for the expensive, easy way out. I like saving a buck and throwing caution to the wind on most nights, tonight being one of them. Young Jakub Dobes has been a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde this year- disastrous at home yet a stonewall on the road. The sample size may be small, and so is the offensive output over the L25 for the team he's facing in Seattle. The Kraken has barely generated anything in the high-danger department, leading to a 2.3 xGF. Montreal over the L10 has been better defensively, which should help Dobes continue to see a supply of lower percentage shots on goal.

Others to consider: Dustin Wolf (DK $8.0K || FD $7.8K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NHL DFS Picks

Barrett Hayton - DK $4.9K || FD $5.7K

Opponent - Anaheim Ducks

Hayton and the rest of Utah's L2 host the lowly Ducks tonight in a perfect matchup for a breakout. Anaheim has averaged over 3xGA during the last 25 games and has looked worse over the L10. Barrett and winger Dylan Guenther correlate on the top power-play unit, opening another avenue toward success.

Others to consider: Marco Kasper (DK $5.7K || FD $4.9K )

DraftKings and FanDuel Wings - NHL DFS Picks

Elmer Soderblom - DK $3.1K || FD $3.8K

Opponent - Buffalo Sabres

Elmer's sticking like glue on Detroit's top line alongside Dylan Larkin and Lucas Raymond. A facilitator more than a goal scorer, Soderblom is the perfect value piece in your DET1 stack. The incoming Sabers have been a high-event squad on both sides of the ice and are easily attackable in a high-scoring affair. The metrics show that Elmer is far overdue to light the lamp as well, with an xGF differential of over two goals.

Others to consider: Alex Kerfoot (DK $3.4K || FD $4.0K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Defensemen - NHL DFS Picks

When selecting defensemen, especially on DK, I tend to find players with a high chance at both blocks and shots and not concentrate so much on point dependency.

Drew Helleson - DK $3.0K || FD $3.9K

Opponent - Utah Hockey Club

Running with the hot hand, with the recent trade of Brian Dumoulin to New Jersey, Drew has found a clear path to more time on ice. Helleson carries a higher ceiling than other value blueliners with both shot and block upside. If he can repeat his performance over the last two games (two goals, one assist, five shots, six blocks), it'll be the best 3k you spend.

Others to consider: David Savard (DK $3.6K || FD $4.0K)

My top 25 defensemen chart focuses more on shot and block peripherals to find a safer floor over the last month.
