NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 11/08/24

It’s hard to believe we are a month into the season! The good news is that we have actionable data to analyze and identify which players to target. Let’s take a look at who stands out to me tonight.

DISCLOSURE: Make sure to monitor the NHL news feeds for the latest player status and injury news.

DraftKings and FanDuel Goalies - NHL DFS Picks

Lukas Dostal -  DK $7.1K || FD $7.2K

Opponent -  Minnesota Wild

Lukas Dostal, come on down! You're the next goalie on Goody's Wheel of Pain. As always, build out your lineup and see what goalie options are available to you.

 Others To Consider (Cash/GPP):
  • Charlie Lindgren - DK $8.2K || FD $7.8K

Want more NHL DFS tools and content? Our NHL Premium package includes our daily DFS Cheat Sheets, Research Station, Lineup Optimizer, and access to our VIP Discord Chatrooms. Doug Shain (@BanksterDFS) joins the NHL team in 2023 with his proven track record - join in on the winning!

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NHL DFS Picks

Nicolas Roy - DK $3.3K || FD $4.8K Winger on Fan Duel

Opponent - Seattle Kraken

Despite being listed as the fourth-line center for the Vegas Golden Knights, Roy exceeds the typical expectations for that position. His style of play is more dynamic and impactful, which is evident in his average of over 15 minutes of ice time per game.

This extended ice time allows him to contribute significantly to his team, making him an appealing option for daily fantasy sports (DFS) players, particularly when considering his pricing that reflects his role as a fourth-liner. When playing at home, Roy's primary responsibility is to neutralize the opposing team's top line, using his skills to disrupt their offensive plays and limit scoring opportunities.

Conversely, on the road, he often enjoys a bit more leeway to be aggressive and take advantage of matchups, allowing him to showcase his offensive capabilities.

Tonight, I see him as a promising player to watch as he faces off against the Seattle Kraken. The Kraken are coming off a gruelling five-game Eastern Conference road trip, where they struggled, finishing with a disappointing record of 1-4. This context gives Roy a potential edge as he looks to capitalize on any fatigue or lack of momentum from the Kraken.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

  •  Max Domi  (DK $3.6K || FD $4.7K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Wings - NHL DFS Picks

Connor McMichael - DK $5.0K || FD $7.3K

Opponent - Pittsburgh Penguins

One of the key factors contributing to the Capitals' impressive start to the season has been the outstanding performance of Connor McMichael. Currently, he shares the team's lead in goals with Alex Ovechkin, each having scored eight times. This achievement is particularly significant as McMichael has shown remarkable growth in his confidence and skill on the ice.

His aggressive style of play is reflected in the fact that he has already taken 39 shots in just 12 games, ranking him second on the team in that category, trailing only Ovechkin. Such contributions have made McMichael a pivotal player for the Capitals this season, hinting at a bright future ahead.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

  • Pavel Dorofeyev (DK $5.3K || FD $6.6K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Defensemen - NHL DFS Picks

Oliver Ekman-Larsson - DK $4.2K || FD $5.3K

Opponent - Detroit Red Wings

OEL, widely recognized throughout the NHL, has made a significant impact since joining the Toronto Maple Leafs. Currently, he stands sixth on the team in total shots, having taken 30 so far this season. His contributions on the ice include a goal and five assists, showcasing his ability to both defend effectively and support the offence.

Furthermore, his role on the power play units adds considerable value, as his presence enhances the team's scoring opportunities. Overall, OEL's combination of skills—his shot volume, scoring ability, and power play involvement—truly makes him a noteworthy asset for the Leafs.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

  • Brock Faber (DK $4.5K || FD $4.7K)
