NFL Playoff Picture and Wild Card Standings - Chiefs, Texans, Steelers, Rams, Seahawks, Falcons Among Teams In The Hunt

Geno Smith - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL DFS Picks

Updated 2023 NFL playoff picture, standings, AFC/NFC Wild Card race as of Week 17 (2023). A look at the top seeds and teams in the hunt for the NFL playoffs.

The Week 16 Christmas NFL slate was a wild one, and two new teams are in playoff position after snagging victories on Saturday or Sunday. With just two weeks and 34 total regular season games left to be played, 24 franchises are still in contention for a playoff berth.

The playoff picture is taking shape heading into Week 17, but only six teams have clinched a spot in the postseason thus far. There is still plenty of drama to unfold, but let's take a look at the current standings ahead of Week 17 action.

As a reminder, seven teams from each conference will qualify for the postseason. The top seeds in each conference will earn a first-round bye, while the three other division winners in each conference will host a playoff game in the Wild Card Round. Despite the Tampa Bay Buccaneers sitting at 8-7, they are currently ahead of the 10-5 Cowboys due to the NFL's playoff format. Without further ado, let's dive into the standings.
