NFL DFS: Lions vs. Vikings DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Football Picks - Sunday Showdown Slate (Week 7)

Amon-Ra St. Brown - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Today's top NFL DFS lineup picks for DraftKings, FanDuel -- Lions vs. Vikings showdown slate for Week 7 (October 20, 2024). Shaun's NFL daily fantasy sleeper picks.

What a matchup we have with the early Sunday games. The Minnesota Vikings will be trying to stay undefeated as Jared Goff and the red-hot Detriot Lions come to visit. Let's break down this showdown matchup.

Thanks to today's advanced analytics, I'll do my best to provide you with as much in-depth analysis as possible regarding positional matchups, etc., to help put some lunch money in your pocket. Let's make some cash this season! There are quite a few guys with questionable tags so make sure to keep an eye on injury news as it could affect how you put your lineup together.

I will provide you with daily fantasy football picks on FanDuel and DraftKings for the Lions vs. Vikings NFL DFS showdown slate for Sunday, October 20, 2024. These NFL DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on both DraftKings and FanDuel. MVP/Captain - NFL DFS Lineup Picks

Amon-Ra St. Brown - WR, $15.6K (DK), $14.5K (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2024 Stats: 31 receptions, 289 receiving yards, and three touchdowns

Amon-Ra St. Brown has been reliable in the past few weeks. He has now found the endzone in three straight games. The targets haven't been as high though besides Week 2 where he had 18. The plus sign for Sunday is who will defend St. Brown: Byron Murphy. Using the WR/CB Tool on RotoBaller, Brown has a positive (green) matchup rating against Murphy in the slot as Murphy has allowed a 73% catch rate on nearly nine targets per game.

Sam Darnold - QB, $13.8K (DK), $13K (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2024 Stats: 87 completions, 1,111 passing yards, 11 touchdowns, and four interceptions

Justin Jefferson would be the obvious number one choice as Captain/MVP. However, Sam Darnold has been playing football pretty well this season and will have slightly lower ownership. Darnold has scored over 20 fantasy points in three of the five games this season.

The Detroit Lions defense is allowing 246.2 passing yards per game. On top of that, Minnesota's defense is allowing 263 passing yards per game. We're most likely getting a shootout on Sunday morning.

Other Captains/MVPs: Justin Jefferson, Jared Goff, David Montgomery

Flex Plays - NFL DFS Lineup Picks

Jameson Williams - WR, $10.5K (DK), $10.5K (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2024 Stats: 16 receptions, 365 receiving yards, and three touchdowns

It seems to finally be the breakout year for Jameson Williams. The targets have cooled off for him but he has been all about big plays and finding the endzone. Similar to Amon-Ra St. Brown, Williams has scored in back-to-back weeks. The most concerning aspect of playing Williams is his targets. He had 20 in the first two games but dropped down to a total of 9 spread across the last three games before the bye.

Jordan Addison - WR, $9.9K (DK), $9K (FD)

  • 2024 Stats: 9 receptions, 143 receiving yards, one receiving touchdown, and one rushing touchdown

This is a game where Jordan Addison can step up and shine. All eyes will be on Justin Jefferson and for good reason. Addison will most likely line up across from Carlton Davis and he's allowing 0.36 fantasy points per route run. One of the highest coming from the Vikings' defense.

Other Flex Options: David Montgomery, Sam LaPorta, Will Reichard

Value Plays - NFL DFS Lineup Picks

Cam Akers - RB, $6.6K (DK), $7K (FD)

This will be a complete risk play as the Minnesota Vikings just traded for Cam Akers earlier in the week. If he plays, I'm rolling the dice. Ty Chandler doesn't seem to be making the coaches feel comfortable with him starting. Chandler recorded 14 rushes, and 30 rushing yards with two receptions for two yards in Week 6. For a high-power Vikings offense, that isn't good enough. Akers reunites with Minnesota and hopes to bring a spark.

Akers filled in for Joe Mixon in Week 5 and recorded nine carries for 42 rushing yards and found the endzone. In Week 4, he recorded 53 rushing yards off of 13 carries. He isn't Aaron Jones by any means but the coaches and front office most likely believe he can be useful this week.

Johnny Mundt - TE, $2.4K (DK), $7K (FD)

Depending on the projected ownership for Johnny Mundt, he's worth the play and will free up a good chunk of his salary. He is averaging 2.6 targets and 8.3 yards per game. If he can manage to break off one big play, he pays off his value easily. Mundt seems to be the clear TE1 until T.J. Hockenson and worth the fly on showdowns.

Other Value Plays: Tim Patrick, Jalen Nailor, Kalif Raymond

Enjoy your Sunday and good luck, everyone!
