NFL DFS Lineup Picks For FanDuel, DraftKings - Texans vs. Jets TNF Showdown (Week 9)

Joe Mixon - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Koby has his top NFL DFS lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings for tonight's Thursday Night Football Texans vs. Jets showdown slate for Week 9.

Happy Halloween, RotoBallers! This is going to be an interesting one. We have the New York Jets (2-6) taking on the Houston Texans (6-2). Houston just lost Stefon Diggs, however, and that is going to be a big hit to the receiving corps. The Jets are looking to get back on track after a brutal loss to the Patriots last week.

We have been pretty successful so far with these showdown slates and hopefully, that trend continues from last year into this year. Most of us started our fantasy journeys with football, so it's always nice when it comes around. Thanks to today's advanced analytics, I'll do my best to provide you with as much in-depth analysis as possible regarding positional matchups and the like to help put some lunch money in your pocket.

I will provide you with daily fantasy football picks on FanDuel and DraftKings for the Texans vs. Jets NFL DFS showdown slate on October 31. These NFL DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on both DraftKings and FanDuel. If you have any questions, you can follow me on X @DFSKoby and fire away, or sign up for a premium RotoBaller NFL package and chat with me and other NFL DFS analysts whenever you'd like!

MVP/Captain Plays

Joe Mixon - RB, Houston Texans - $16.5K (DK), $16.5K (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2024 Stats: 503 rushing yards, 14 receptions, 115 receiving yards, and six total touchdowns

Joe Mixon will have a heavy workload on his hands as the Texans are going into this game a bit short-handedly. Both Stefon Diggs and Nico Collins are now on IR. On top of that, Mixon has been one of the top RBs this season, scoring 24+ fantasy points in four of five matchups. I anticipate the Texans working Mixon into the passing game as well as giving him a chance to be the top guy on the slate.

Garrett Wilson - WR, New York Jets - $14.4K (DK), $13.5K (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2024 Stats: 51 receptions, 573 receiving yards, three receiving touchdowns

On the other side of the field, we take a look at Garrett Wilson. He has been targeted 17 times and caught 10 of them across the last two weeks. He also gets a plus matchup against Jalen Pitre, who is giving up .28 fantasy points per route run this season. Aaron Rodgers seems to be finding Wilson more across the last four weeks, which is good for us here.

Other Captains/MVPs: Aaron Rodgers, C.J. Stroud, Davante Adams

DFS Flex Plays

Tank Dell - WR, Houston Texans - $9.2K (DK), $12K (FD)

Tank Dell is now WR1 in Houston. He has some big shoes to fill and he did get an uptick in targets recently, which should only increase here. Last week, he saw a 75% snap share and that was still with Diggs on the field. He has a tough matchup, but if the volume is there, then he should be able to score decently well. On top of that, Stroud has found him in the end zone twice over the last two weeks.

Aaron Rodgers - QB, New York Jets - $9K (DK), $13K (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2024 Stats: 175 completions, 1,896 passing yards, 12 passing touchdowns, seven interceptions

Six guys on the DraftKings slate are more expensive than Rodgers this week. I think we are getting quite the steal. The Texans have been allowing TDs in the red zone quite a bit this season. They are allowing teams to score a TD once they reach the red zone 70% of the time, which is the third-highest in the league!

Rodgers has by no means been electric as he has in the past, but for his price, I will gladly take an average of 15 FP! As he regains chemistry with Davante Adams, I expect those two to be a lethal duo, especially in the red zone. It is getting to the point where the Jets are in must-win territory and they are going to need Rodgers to step up here and get the job done.

Other Flex Options: Breece Hall, Xavier Hutchinson, Dalton Schultz

DFS Value Plays

John Metchie III  - WR, Houston Texans - $2.8K (DK), $7.5K (FD)

I think you can go with Metchie or Robert Woods in this situation, as they are both the same price and both should result in a decent snap share. So getting a piece of both of them could be critical if you are playing multiple lineups.

Metchie, however, saw four targets in last week's win over the Colts. He caught three of them for 29 yards. It isn't much, but that is only the beginning as he played in only 28% of snaps last week. Stefon Diggs played 54% of snaps last week, leaving almost 40 snaps on the table for Metchie to take advantage of.

Ka'imi Fairbairn - K, Houston Texans - $5.2K (DK), $9K (FD)

Key Stats

  • 2024 Stats: 19-of-21 field goals, longest: 59 yards, 17-of-17 extra points

I have been a big kicker guy this year, as they have won me some cash this season with how stout the defenses have been. Fairbairn has been extremely solid and has the leg to back it up as well. He has only two missed field goals this season and is perfect on extra points as well. His long this season is 59 yards and he is averaging nearly 12 FP a game with double digits in six of eight games this season.

Other Value Plays: Robert Woods, Braelon Allen, Mike Williams

Enjoy your week, and good luck, everyone!
