MVP/Captain - NFL DFS Lineup Picks
Patrick Mahomes - QB, $16.2K (DK), $19.2K (FD)
I'm not sure I understand what FanDuel was doing when it priced Patrick Mahomes cheaper than Rashee Rice. Rice has been great, don't get me wrong, but Mahomes has by far the higher ceiling here. Mahomes is averaging 23 fantasy points per game this season, and Rice's best game was 25 fantasy points just last week. The big downfall for Mahomes has been the interceptions; he has had seven on the season and five in the previous five games.

Houston has been tough against the passing game this season, allowing the third-fewest fantasy points to WRs. That doesn't necessarily help our case with Mahomes, but it makes for a good reason to fade on Rice in what is likely his toughest matchup of the season. This is going to be a defensive game, but if the fantasy points are going to come from somewhere, that is likely Mahomes.
Nico Collins - WR, $14.7K (DK), $18K (FD)
Nico Collins was able to survive with Davis Mills at QB, but I'm sure he is glad to have C.J. Stroud back at the helm. Last week, he finished with 19 fantasy points on 10 targets, which he caught five of them for 98 yards. The Chiefs' pass defense has been on the decline in recent weeks; they have given up the third-most fantasy points to opposing WRs across the previous four weeks.
Collins makes for a pretty expensive captain, but as long as he continues to see a near 25% reception share and 26% red-zone target share, he has the ceiling for a big game. With 10+ targets in five of his last six games, Collins should continue being the focal point in the offense, giving him plenty of opportunities to make a big splash.
Other Captains/MVPs: C.J. Stroud

Flex Plays - NFL DFS Lineup Picks
Kareem Hunt - RB, $7.4K (DK), $9.6K (FD)
Kareem Hunt has completely taken over the backfield in Kansas City. It truly is for the better, though. Isiah Pacheco just hasn't been efficient this season; on top of that, Hunt has been vulturing those red-zone runs. Hunt sees a 47% red-zone rush share compared to Pacheco's 21% this season. Even with Pacheco back from injury last week, he only saw three rushing attempts.
Kareem Hunt Likely To Lead Backfield Again In Tough Matchup https://t.co/pE9dB6NePU

Hunt has two games this season with multiple touchdowns. The last two weeks, he has even been getting involved in the receiving game. With a tough defense like the Texans on the other side, Mahomes could look to his safety valve in Hunt more often in this one. Hunt is averaging over 4.0 fantasy points more in the last five weeks compared to his season average, and I expect that to continue here, even against a tough run defense.
Houston Texans Defense, $3.6K (DK), $6.8K (FD)
If you are looking to get different on this slate, then the defense is always a good way to do that. They are generally one of the lower-owned options on the slate, and with a tough defense like the Texans on the slate, it is worth a shot in a couple of lineups if you are playing GPPs. This Texans defense is only allowing 15.5 points per game this season and has five games of double-digit fantasy points.
The Texans have two or more sacks in nine games this season and have at least one turnover in all but two games! The most points they have let up this season were against Seattle, with 27. They made last year's MVP look like a fool a couple of weeks ago, sacking him eight times! And getting them to turn the ball over three times. If you want to get something different, here is probably one of the best spots to do so.
Other Flex Options: Xavier Worthy, Travis Kelce, Jayden Higgins
Value Plays - NFL DFS Lineup Picks
Xavier Hutchinson - WR, $3K (DK), $3.2K (FD)
I'm not sure I understand why Hutchinson is priced lower than both Christian Kirk and Jaylin Noel. He consistently outsnaps them and sees more targets than they do. Sounds like a solid value spot to me then. He is also only slightly behind Jayden Higgins in snaps played across the last few weeks. Hutchinson should find himself in a good matchup as well.
The Chiefs have struggled to guard guys in the slot, even with him not playing a ton in the slot. I expect him to play more in the slot here against Chamarri Conner, who is giving up .41 fantasy points per route run this season.
Conner primarily is the slot CB and has been getting tormented. Hutchinson was targeted five times in last week's win over the Colts, which was good for the third most on the team. There is too much potential in Hutchinson at this price to overlook the opportunity here.
Dalton Schultz - TE, $5.4K (DK), $5.8K (FD)
I don't love a lot of the value options for the Chiefs, so I'm going to keep it here with the Texans. Dalton Schultz has been solid this season, but the lack of touchdowns, though, is what has hurt his fantasy stock. He has had eight or more targets in five of his previous seven games, which is very encouraging to see. Getting him into the end zone is the big thing here; he is still second on the team in red-zone target share at 15%.
Schultz is second on the team in targets, receptions, and yards this season. He is far too cheap for someone with a relatively high ceiling if he can get something going in the red zone.
As for a Chiefs value play, the options are minimal, but Marquise Brown would be your best option. He caught both of his targets, including a touchdown, last week against the Cowboys.
Other Value Options: Ka'imi Fairbairn, Marquise Brown, Nick Chubb
Sample NFL DFS Lineup
Here is a lineup option I like for Sunday evening's slate on FanDuel. Note that sample lineups are not intended to be used in contests by readers, but instead to show the type of roster construction that I am considering when building my lineups.
