Baller Streaming Strategy for Week 24

Monday has no games, Tuesday has 12, Friday has nine and all the teams play on the final day of the season on Sunday. These days should be easy enough for fantasy manager to cover. On the other hand, Wednesday (six games), Thursday (seven games) and Saturday (four games) are the days that have the fewest games played.

As no teams play on all three of these scarce days, we will cover players from teams that play on at least two:

  • Memphis Grizzlies (4 games - Tues, Thurs, Sat, Sun)
  • New Orleans Pelicans (4 games - Tues, Thurs, Sat, Sun)
  • San Antonio Spurs (4 games - Tues, Thurs, Sat, Sun)
  • Philadelphia 76ers (4 games - Tues, Thurs, Sat, Sun)
  • Los Angeles Clippers (3 games - Wed, Sat, Sun)
  • Golden State Warriors (3 games - Thurs, Sat, Sun)

Otto Porter Jr., SF/PF, GSW, (26% Rostered) -
 Strong Cats: REB, 3PM, STL

Shallower League Add

Devin Vassell, SG/SF, SAS, (38% Rostered)

Strong Cats: 3PM, PTS, FT%, REB, STL/BLK

The 11th pick from the 2020 draft has really been coming into his own lately and is ranked at #89 on Yahoo for the period of the previous 14 days with averages of 15.6 PTS with 2.8 3PM on 40.6 FG% and 92.3 FT%, 4.6 REB, 2.4 AST, 1.4 STL, 0.0 BLK and just 0.8 TO while playing 30 minutes a night.

Very decent all-around contribution with some great FT%, threes, points and steals while maintaining low turnovers and bringing some boards and dimes to the table as well. The only low points are his FG% (which will probably remain low) and blocks (and he could get one or two as he is on 0.6 per game this season).

If you're looking for a guy to stuff the stat sheet in multiple columns, Vassell's form combined with his favorable schedule for next week make him a very intriguing pick.

Deeper League Add

Tyus Jones, PG, MEM, (25% Rostered)

Strong Cats: 3PM, AST, STL

With their star player, Ja Morant sidelined with a knee injury, his backup Tyus Jones has led the Grizzlies in minutes per game (30). This increased opportunity has helped him get into the top-50 for the period of the last two weeks with averages of 14.2 points with 2.2 threes on 47.7% from the field and 76.9% from the line, 3.3 boards, 7.3 dimes, 1.0 steals, no blocks and only 0.5 turnovers a night.

Tyus has spent most of his NBA career being a backup PG and has rarely let his team down when called upon. This is exactly what's happening again in Memphis at the moment, and with Morant out for the rest of the regular season and the schedule that has him playing four games with two on scarce days, Jones is a very interesting option for fantasy managers looking for some guard stats, especially assists.

Insanely Deep League Add

Josh Richardson, SG/SF, SAS, (12% Rostered)

Strong Cats: 3PM, PTS, AST, STL, FT%

I knew Josh was doing well in San Antonio, but I must admit - I was surprised to learn that he was ranked #55 for the previous fortnight while researching for this article. Here's why...

He is averaging 15.7 PTS with 2.7 3PM on 49.2 FG%, 1.000 FT%, 2.5 AST, 1.8 STL, 0.2 BLK and 1.3 TO in 27 minutes per outing over this period.

Now, of course, it's not very realistic to expect JRich to keep this level up for much longer. But he doesn't really have to, does he? Only for one more week!

Furthermore, he did have decent games back in his Miami days, so we can't say that this is a big surprise.

JRich does it all. He contributes across the board and if you're in the market for such a player on one of your last adds from the wire this year, he might just be the one to bring you to the promised land!

Other Deep League Options for the Week

Rostered in less than 25% of Yahoo leagues

Xavier Tillman, PF/C, MEM, (2% Rostered) - Strong Cats: REB, a bit of STL - buyer beware: could lose his playing time if the Memphis' bigs are all healthy
Ziaire Williams, SF, MEM, (2% Rostered) - Strong Cats: 3PM, FT%, a little bit of everything
Larry Nance Jr., PF/C, NOP, (23% Rostered) - Strong Cats: FG%, REB, STL/BLK - buyer beware: gets around 20 minutes a night since his return from injury
Jose Alvarado, PG, NOP, (22% Rostered) - Strong Cats: AST, STL - buyer beware: his playing time has dropped in the previous three games (averaged 13 mins a night)
Naji Marshall, SF, NOP, (4% Rostered) - Strong Cats: not much, a bit of STL, AST, REB
Trey Murphy III, SG/SF, NOP, (4% Rostered) - Strong Cats: not much, a bit of 3PM, some REB, STL
Lonnie Walker IV, SG/SF, SAS, (16% Rostered) - Strong Cats: 3PM, PTS, a bit of AST

Danny Green, SG/SF, PHI, (13% Rostered) - Strong Cats: 3PM, STL/BLK
Shake Milton, PG/SG, PHI, (6% Rostered) - Strong Cats: 3PM, AST

Amir Coffey, SF, LAC, (5% Rostered) - Strong Cats: 3PM, PTS
Isaiah Hartenstein, PF/C, LAC, (41% Rostered) - Strong Cats: FG%, REB, STL/BLK
Nicolas Batum, SF/PF, LAC, (13% Rostered) - Strong Cats: a little bit of REB, 3PM, STL - buyer beware: missed the game on Friday due to ankle soreness - although half the team was rested so this might just be it
Kevon Looney, PF/C, GSW, (22% Rostered) -
 Strong Cats: REB, FG%, STL/BLK
Nemanja Bjelica, PF/C, GSW, (3% Rostered) - Strong Cats: a bit of REB, 3PM, AST
Damion Lee, SG/SF, GSW, (1% Rostered) - Strong Cats: 3PM, FT%
Gary Payton II, PG/SG, GSW, (10% Rostered) - Strong Cats: 3PM, PTS, REB
