Today's NBA Picks: Top Player Props, Odds, and Best Bets (Friday, 3/6/26)

LaMelo Ball - Charlotte Hornets

Get Keith Eyster's top NBA player props and expert picks for Friday, 3/6/26. Uncover today's best value bets, model projections, and live odds to beat the books.

Welcome back to another edition of RotoBaller's NBA Props! There are seven games on the schedule this evening, highlighted by the potential way-ahead-of-schedule return of Jayson Tatum for the Boston Celtics.

Of the fourteen teams on the slate, eight of them will be playing on the second leg of a back-to-back set, so there is sure to be injury news to monitor throughout the afternoon.

In this article, I will provide my favorite NBA player props picks for Friday, March 6th. Prop picks can range from individual stats, such as points, assists, rebounds, three-pointers made, and defensive statistics, to combination props (Points + Rebounds + Assists = PRA). All odds and sportsbooks used are listed, but it's always a good idea to shop around, as odds change throughout the day as bets are placed. Alright, let's get to the picks already!

Today’s Best NBA Picks for Player Props

Let’s take a look at the top player props for today’s NBA slate:

LaMelo Ball over 11.5 Rebounds + Assists (-115 BetMGM), (-132 NOVIG)

The Charlotte Hornets are playing as well as anyone in basketball right now. Since the All-Star break, they have led the league in Offensive Rating and Net Rating and own a 6-2 record. They actually dropped their first two games out of the break and have since run off six wins in a row. Point guard LaMelo Ball has been the key facilitator on offense, averaging 7.2 assists and 5.2 rebounds during that six-game stretch.

He has cleared 11.5 rebounds and assists in four of those six games, and tonight's matchup sets him up to go over that mark once again. Miami plays at the fastest pace in the league, creating extra possessions that should lead to more potential assists and rebound chances for Ball. They also played at home last night and must travel to Charlotte for the second leg of this back-to-back set, which gives Ball and the Hornets a rest advantage.

Our RotoBaller Props Optimizer agrees that Ball's props are a good bet tonight!

The NBA Props Optimizer tool is available only to premium members, as well as our Sleeper Props Tool and PrizePicks Props Finder! Snag a premium pass to all our betting/props tools and crush the prop market for the rest of the season!

Jrue Holiday over 27.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-112 Bet365)

Portland's veteran point guard Jrue Holiday has had a resurgent season, averaging 16.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 6.3 assists. He has been even better when Deni Avdija has been absent from the lineup, bumping his scoring average to 23.0 points per game with Avdija sidelined over the last six games.

Avdija is listed as doubtful for this difficult matchup against Houston, which will once again line Holiday up to take on a massive role in the offense. Houston just lost a tough overtime game to Golden State last night, and they could potentially be inclined to rest someone like Amen Thompson or Jabari Smith Jr. Both players were questionable leading up to yesterday's game and ended up playing over 40 minutes in the contest.

Top NBA Value Picks and Sleeper Props

Betting on superstars is always exciting, but the best value often lies in the margins of a roster. Role players and emerging contributors can offer hidden edges, especially as the season wears on and injuries start to shake up rotations. We don't want to wager only on superstars; often, role players and lesser-known players may offer the best markets.

Let’s dive into some of the top value plays for today’s NBA slate.

Jaxson Hayes over 9.5 Points (-128 NOVIG)

The Lakers suffered a tough loss in Denver last night, but return home for a much easier matchup with Indiana tonight. Deandre Ayton was forced from the game in the first quarter with knee soreness and was not able to return. Jaxson Hayes saw a big bump in playing time, up to 27 minutes, as a result. He responded in a big way with 19 points in the game.

Due to the quick turnaround on the back-to-back, Ayton's status is uncertain for tonight's matchup. Hayes would be in for another big workload if he were unable to play. Even if Ayton does attempt to play, he has been limited recently, and Indiana is an elite matchup that Hayes should be able to capitalize on.

Reed Sheppard over 15.5 Points (-104 NOVIG)

Houston dropped a tough overtime game to Golden State last night, but it wasn't for lack of effort from Reed Sheppard. The second-year guard dropped 30 points on 12-of-19 shooting from the floor in 37 minutes of action. He has seen a significant increase in playing time lately, even drawing a couple of starts while Smith was out of the lineup.

Houston will be back in action tonight despite several players logging over 40 minutes last night. They may opt to rest a player or two after significant workloads, especially considering Smith and Thompson were both on the injury report leading into last night's contest. Sheppard would likely step back into a starting role if either of those players sat out. Even if the Rockets play at full strength, Sheppard has been great recently and should be able to excel in a plus matchup against Portland.

Christian Braun over 14.5 Points + Rebounds (-132 FanDuel)

Denver wing Christian Braun has been playing huge minutes recently with Aaron Gordon and Peyton Watson out with injuries. Over his last 12 games, he's averaging 35.4 minutes, 13.0 points, and 5.8 rebounds. The rebounding numbers have remained especially consistent, even with Denver trying out bigger starting lineups that include Zeke Nnaji or Jonas Valanciunas. He's cleared 14.5 combined points and rebounds in eight of his last 10 games.

The Nuggets draw a tough matchup tonight against New York, but Braun has a locked-in role that should see him play more than 35 minutes again. He's had no problem clearing this line in tough matchups against OKC and Minnesota in recent games.
