NBA Fantasy Weekly Streamers for Week 7 (Feb 1 - Feb 7)

NBA fantasy baseball streamers waiver wire pickups

Milos Zvekic's fantasy basketball waiver wire streamers for head-to-head leagues. He reviews the Week 7 NBA schedule (2/1 - 2/7) and streaming options to pick up.

Why did James Harden go to the Nets? - He heard that Brooklyn has some insane STREAM clubs!

Poor jokes aside, Harden and the rest of the Nets will not have an easy time helping out their fantasy managers this week with just three games, all of which coming on busy days. If you want to know who might be of more help, read on.

Here are my thoughts on the fantasy basketball streamers for Week 7.

Baller Streaming Strategy for Week 7

With games on all three days with six and fewer games (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday), players from the Utah Jazz will be the most sought after commodity in Week 7. Memphis and Portland have a four-game week play on both Tuesday and Thursday, so their players are decent options as well, especially to start the week with a game on Monday as well. Golden State also has games on Tuesday and Thursday, but just one more during the week - on Saturday.

A few teams play on both Tuesday and Sunday. In addition to the aforementioned Jazz, we have the Celtics, Pacers, Clippers and Wizards, all of whom have four games this week. Players from these eight teams are most likely to help out fantasy managers looking for some streaming support, so we will focus on them.

It is quite important for me to point out that the Wizards are just getting most of their players back from Covid related absences, so it is very hard to predict who will play and how well. There is potential for some steals from the wire in Washington, but it's all pretty hit or miss at the moment.

Streaming Options for Week 7

Strong Cats: 3PM, AST, a little bit of everything
Dillon Brooks, SF/PF, MEM, (37% Rostered) -
 Strong Cats: 3PM, PTS
Kyle Anderson, SF/PF, MEM, (51% Rostered) - Strong Cats: AST, STL/BLK, REB, FG% - positive circumstance: he is starting while Jaren Jackson Jr. is out
Carmelo Anthony, SF/PF, POR, (41% Rostered) - Strong Cats: 3PM, PTS, FT%
Enes Kanter, C, POR, (73% Rostered) - Strong Cats: FG%, FT%, REB
Robert Covington, PF/C, POR, (70% Rostered) - Strong Cats: REB, STL/BLK, 3PM
Daniel Theis, PF/C, BOS, (50% Rostered) - Strong Cats: REB, FG%, BLK
Justin Holiday, SG/SF, IND, (38% Rostered) - Strong Cats: 3PM, STL, a bit of everything

Ivica Zubac, C, LAC, (38% Rostered) - Strong Cats: FG%, REB, BLK
Nicolas Batum, SF/PF, LAC, (54% Rostered) - Strong Cats: AST, STL, REB, FT%
Lou Williams, PG/SG, LAC, (42% Rostered) - Strong Cats: 3PM, PTS, FT%
Reggie Jackson, PG/SG, LAC, (29% Rostered) - Strong Cats: 3PM, PTS, STL, AST - buyer beware: should see fewer minutes with Paul George and Kawhi Leonard back
Davis Bertans, PF/C, WAS, (65% Rostered) - Strong Cats: 3PM, FT%, PTS
Rui Hachimura, SF/PF, WAS, (53% Rostered) - Strong Cats: REB, PTS, a bit of everything

Shallower League Add

Jeremy Lamb, SG/SF, IND, (50% Rostered)

Strong Cats: 3PM, FT%, a bit of everything

Lamb should be left on the wire only in the shallowest of leagues, and it baffles me how he is still available in half the leagues on Yahoo. It's probably mostly because of his injury history and the fact that he just recently returned from a lengthy absence. But in the six games since his return, Jeremy is averaging 13.7 points with 1.7 three-pointers on 47.5% from the field and 94.1% from the charity stripe, 4.7 boards, 1.3 dimes, 1.0 steals, 0.5 blocks and just 1.0 turnover in 25 minutes per outing. This is good enough for spot #86 in Yahoo rankings.

With Caris Levert being sidelined indefinitely Lamb is going to get the ball in his hands more and expected to step up in support of Malcolm Brogdon and Domantas Sabonis, as the third offensive option in the starting unit.

Lamb definitely has the potential to be much more than just a streamer for next week if he can stay healthy, and with the Pacers playing four games, two of which are on scarce days, there is no better time to give Lamb a shot.

Deeper League Add

Gary Trent Jr., SG/SF, POR, (22% Rostered)

Strong Cats: 3PM, PTS

Gary is ON FIRE! CJ McCollum is out with a fractured foot and Gary is benefiting from it with averages of 18.7 PTS with 4.7 3PM on 48.8 FG%, 1.3 REB, 0.3 AST, 1.0 STL and 1.3 TO in over 33 minutes a game. Over the last seven days, he is ranked at 108 on Yahoo, which is a great accomplishment when we take into consideration that he doesn't do much else besides shoot threes and get some steals.

Now it is definitely unlikely that Trent Jr. can keep it up at this level for too long, and with the lack of other stats, he is not very suitable for fantasy purposes. Furthermore, when CJ gets back (and he is still at least a few weeks away), Trent is probably going back to around 20 minutes a night, so it doesn't look like he will be a long-term option for most fantasy teams.

But if you need help in threes and points, and could use a steal here and there in your upcoming matchup, he could prove quite valuable to your team, especially with such a favorable schedule. Why not try to ride this hot wave along with him?

Insanely Deep League Add

Anfernee Simons, PG/SG, POR, (10% Rostered)

Strong Cats: 3PM, PTS

Simons gets much of the same stats for his fantasy GMs as our previous option Gary Trent Jr. but with a lower rostering %. I wanted to provide a different option compared to his teammate for you, and almost went with Ish Smith, but as Ish hasn't played in a game since January 11, I thought that would be too much of a risky play for next week. So I went with Simons anyway as there are sure to be leagues where he is available while Trent isn't, and he can be a really good option for deep league teams in need of threes and points.

The similarities between their stats over the last week are ridiculous. Both are scoring 18.7 points on 7.0 field goals made (4.7 of which are threes). Neither has hit a single free throw (actually only Trent had an attempt, and just the one). The main difference is that Trent is getting 33 minutes a game and gets some steals in that time, while Simons plays just under 27, gets just 0.3 steals per game, but contributes a bit more in assists (1.0) and boards (4.3 per game).

So, if you liked what you read about Gary (apart from the steals) and he isn't available in your league, or you would rather have some boards than steals, oooor you just think Simons will outperform Trent, he is a decent streaming option for the upcoming period.

Other Deep League Options for the Week
