Worth the Investment

Russell Westbrook (OKC, PG) - $11,000

As we have all seen, with Kevin Durant out Westbrook gets the run of the show and is a fantasy stud. Last game against Orlando he had a monster 25 point, 11 rebound and 14 assist triple double, good for 67.2 fantasy points. Over the last 10 games Westbrook has a staggering five games over 50 fantasy points which is what he will need to hit value tonight. Yes a match-up with Anthony Davis is not ideal, but the Thunder point guard usually takes these games personally meaning another 60+ fantasy point game in certainly in play tonight.

Pau Gasol (CHI, PF) - $9,500

Gasol has had nine straight double-doubles including five games over 16 rebounds in that stretch. Along with his stellar scoring and rebounding, Gasol has also chipped in at least 2 assists and a block in each of those nine games helping him to not have one game less than 31 fantasy points. Tonight he faces a Houston team that is without its defensive stud down low in Dwight Howard meaning Gasol should have his way with the likes of Terrence Jones and Donatas Montiejunas.

Hassan Whiteside (MIA, C) - $7,400

In case you have not watch NBA basketball in a while, Whiteside has become a fantasy stud. The former D-Leaguer has seen his price rise to $7,400 but that even seems like a bargain for a player that has averaged 41.0 fantasy points over the past five games which have included four double-doubles. Along with that Whiteside has posted a ridiculous 21 blocks in those five games boosting his value even more. The only downfall is that he has only seen over 30 minutes one time in those outings which does limit some of his value, but going against a Wolves team near the bottom of defense against opposing centers means he is an auto plug and play tonight.

Top Sleepers

J.J. Barea (DAL, PG) - $3,900

Devin Harris was everyone’s fantasy plug and play Monday, however it was Barea who not only started but outplayed Harris. In 29 minutes the diminutive point guard managed to put up 10 points, 8 assists and 4 rebounds against Minnesota. With Harris coming out of last game with a few injuries expect Barea to once again draw the start. A game against a good Warriors defense is not great, but for under $4k it is hard to not manage Barea hitting value in this one.

Jerryd Bayless (MIL, PG) - $4,400

If Barea is too risky for you tonight, your next best option is likely to be Bayless who got big minutes last game with an injury to Brandon Knight. It is still unknown if Knight will play tonight, however even if he does Bayless could still be a play as he has had over 15 fantasy points in seven straight games. It is also a plus that the Bucks take on a Lakers team that is near the bottom in point guard defense meaning Bayless should have a great shot at making value. If Knight is ruled out the trio of Bayless, Barea and Westbrook will be tough to decide between tonight for the two spots on your fantasy team.
