NBA DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (6/14/24) - Today's Top Lineups

luka doncic NBA dfs lineup picks daily fantasy basketball advice

The top NBA DFS daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings on June 14, 2024. Use Mike's NBA DFS picks for building optimal DFS rosters to win big.

Friday’s Game 4 between the Celtics and Mavericks brings us more single-game contests on DraftKings and FanDuel. The lineup construction is a bit different compared to the typical DFS slate as these include a 1.5x multiplier Captain's spot on DraftKings that carries elevated salaries for each player, and MVP (2x), STAR (1.5x), and PRO (1.2x) spots on FanDuel, where player's salaries are the same regardless of roster spot.

The key to being successful in NBA DFS comes down to making adjustments during the day as injury information becomes available, but it's always really important to have a game plan and to have the best players and spots circled first before making those adjustments. To keep up with all the latest developments and get access to updated projections, grab an NBA season pass and also gain access to our RotoBaller Premium Discord, where @chiefjustice6 is talking about the slate up until lineups lock!

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 6/14/24. Remember to monitor NBA injury news and our awesome NBA injuries report tool, as the slate can completely change before lineups lock at 8:30 p.m. EDT on FanDuel and DraftKings. Good luck, RotoBallers!

Today's NBA DFS Core Picks (Captain/MVP/STAR)

Luka Doncic had a rare off night from behind the arc in Game 3, making only one of his seven three-point attempts. He was frustrated by a lack of foul calls throughout the game and eventually fouled out. Even though it was a bad game for him, he still finished with 27 points, six rebounds, six assists, and one steal. He should continue to have a high floor as the Mavericks look to stay alive.

After two quiet scoring performances to begin the series, Jayson Tatum scored 31 points in Game 3. He was just 11-of-26 from the field, but he nailed four three-pointers along the way. Kristaps Porzingis (lower leg) might sit out again with the Celtics having a commanding lead, so Tatum should continue to have a hefty usage rate. He is also averaging 10.1 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game during the playoffs.

Jaylen Brown attempted 27 total shots over the first two games of this series. In Game 3, he scored 30 points on 22 shot attempts. With Porzingis possibly set to be sidelined again, Brown should continue to have a higher usage rate. Don’t expect him to let up as the Celtics look for the sweep.

Top Captain's Spot/MVP Plays:

  1. Luka Doncic, DAL vs. BOS – PG ($20,400 DK; $17,500 FD)
  2. Jayson Tatum, BOS at DAL – SF/PF ($17,400 DK; $16,000 FD)
  3. Jaylen Brown, BOS at DAL – SG/SF ($15,000 DK; $15,000 FD)

ALSO CONSIDER: Jrue Holiday, BOS at DAL – PG ($10,200 DK; $11,000 FD)

Today's NBA DFS Value Picks (Utility/PRO)

The Celtics have done a good job of guarding the three-point line in this series. In the first two games, P.J. Washington was a combined 1-of-8 from behind the arc. He did hit three three-pointers in Game 3 and is averaging 14.7 points and 7.7 rebounds per game in the series. Of the supporting players on the Mavericks, he has the highest upside.

The Celtics are lucky to have Al Horford waiting in the wings for when Porzingis gets hurt. The veteran logged 37 minutes in Game 3, recording eight points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block. Across 17 playoffs games, he has averaged 9.5 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 0.9 blocks. As long as the Mavericks can keep this game close, Horford should log around 35 minutes again.

Dereck Lively II was a big reason why the Mavericks even made it to the finals. He was excellent against the Timberwolves, who have a lot of size up front. He struggled the first two games of this series while trying to defend Porzingis behind the arc. Porzingis is also an excellent rim protector. With him out for Game 3, Lively got back into the thick of things with 11 points, 13 rebounds, and two steals over 30 minutes. Maxi Kleber has looked awful and Daniel Gafford has been hit or miss, so Lively could play a lot again in Game 4.

Top Utility/PRO Plays:

  1. P.J. Washington, DAL vs. BOS – PF/C ($6,200 DK; $10,000 FD)
  2. Al Horford, BOS at DAL – PF/C ($5,800 DK; $9,500 FD)
  3. Dereck Lively II, DAL vs. BOS – C ($5,400 DK; $9,000 FD)

ALSO CONSIDER: Daniel Gafford, DAL vs. BOS – C ($4,400 DK; $8,500 FD)

Today's Top NBA DFS Avoids

  1. There really isn’t anyone that stands out as a player to avoid. Both teams have been riding their starters heavy minutes, which increases the floors for most of them.
