Injury: Shoulder
Toronto Blue Jays manager John Schneider said on Friday that it would be tough for starting pitcher Shane Bieber (shoulder) to return before the end of the regular season, Hazel Mae of Sportsnet reports. Bieber is scheduled to throw a side session on Saturday, so the Jays should have a better idea about his status after that. The right-hander has been sidelined since late August due to shoulder inflammation. He probably doesn't have time to build up into a starter again, so if he returns, Bieber would likely pitch in a limited role. Fantasy managers in redraft formats are probably safe to move on at this point.

Shane Bieber 2026 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Starting Season on IL, Let the Buyer Beware
Veteran right-hander Shane Bieber (forearm) will begin the 2026 season on the injured list with forearm fatigue, a concerning development for the Toronto Blue Jays, a team with hopes for a deep playoff run. Veteran right-hander Shane Bieber (forearm) will begin the 2026 season on the injured list with forearm fatigue, a concerning development for the Toronto Blue Jays, a team with hopes for a deep playoff run. Bieber only started seven games in 2025, but was a key contributor to the Jays' playoff success. Bieber went 4-2 with a 3.57 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, and 40 strikeouts in 37 innings. The organization has decided to slow-play his process into 2026, allowing him to play catch and build his arm strength as Spring Training ramps up this week. There does not appear to be a timetable for Bieber's return to action for a team that will need him later this summer. If we suggest a possible timeline for Bieber, anticipate 20 starts on the high end, with ratios around 3.50-3.75 in ERA and a WHIP in the 1.15 range. Let the buyer beware during draft season with no firm timetable for a return.less...
