Recent Update

2 years agoFrancis Martes suffered another sub-par performance out of the bullpen during the Astros 14-7 win. Martes is one of the prized prospects of the Astros farm system and was called up to start a few games in June. Since then, Martes has been moved to the bullpen and after a few scoreless outings has been touched up in his last two appearances. In his last two outings, he has allowed five hits, six runs and two walks over his last 1 1/3 innings. His ERA is now 5.51 and has walked 16 batters through 32 2/3 innings and may need to return to the minors for more seasoning. The addition of Francisco Liriano further complicates matters and Martes may be squeezed out before the rosters expand again in September.--Joey C - RotoBaller
