Recent Update

2/15:Boston Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts said he will not discuss a contract extension with the Red Sox until after the 2018 season. Betts is under contract through 2020, so there is no real rush. He also just scored a $10.5 million salary for 2018 in his first foray through the arbitration process -- very close to a new record for a first-year arbitration player. The 25-year-old outfielder is going to be really expensive next winter -- whether via arbitration or an extension -- if he puts up the kind of numbers we've seen for the last three seasons. Betts finished with 24 home runs, 102 RBI, 26 stolen bases, and 101 runs scored over 153 games in 2017.--Chris Zolli - RotoBaller
