MLB Starting Pitcher Patrol: The Best SP Streamers for (6/14/16)

Welcome to the Tuesday slate. Some of the top pitchers toeing the rubber tonight include Madison Bumgarner, David Price, and Jacob deGrom. That being said, there are a few pitchers who are less than 65% owned who are in line for big outings today. In this article, I’ll be providing you with the top starting pitcher streamers for daily fantasy baseball (DFS) and for seasonal leagues for 6/14/16. These streamers will range from high-priced / high-ownership options to low-priced / low-ownership options, and will be sleepers and value picks for your cash games and GPPs on DraftKings and FanDuel, and also for seasonal leagues with daily lineups.

There'll be three main sections of this article: our Pitcher Matchups Tool’s top plays, my value plays, and pitchers to fade. I highly recommend you check out the Daily Pitcher Matchups Ratings tool - it's an extremely useful tool for daily fantasy or seasonal streaming for finding the diamonds in the rough. Anyways, let's get cracking!

Editor's Note: RotoBaller offers the best Premium MLB Subscription - only $1.99 per week. All the tools you need to help win your seasonal and daily leagues: Hitter & Pitcher Streamers, Matchup Ratings for every player, Under-the-Radar Surgers for AVG, HR, Ks, plus daily DFS Cheat Sheets, Lineup Picks, Expert Lineups, Stacks and Avoids.

Daily Pitcher Matchup Ratings Tool Top Plays

Jhoulys Chacin (SP, LAA) vs. Minnesota Twins

Risky Stream

Chacin comes in highly recommended by the matchup ratings tool tonight, and rightfully so. He does have a nice matchup with a Twins offense that has struggled against right-handed pitching this season, ranking just 22nd in wOBA and 20th in ISO on the year. The main point of concern for Chacin here is the fact he has really struggled in the American League since being acquired by the Angels last month.

Matt Garza (SP, MIL) @ San Francisco Giants

Risky Stream

Garza will make his 2016 debut after opening the season on the DL with a back injury. He will pitch in one of the most pitcher-friendly stadiums in the league and will face off against a Giants offense that has really struggled against right-handed pitching as of late. That being said, Garza gets the risky tag because he's making his first start coming back from injury and the Giants do have several dangerous hitters in their lineup.

Matt’s Value Plays of the Day

Brandon Finnegan (SP, CIN) @ Atlanta Braves

Solid Stream

There's a lot to like here with Finnegan. First, he gets a huge park boost as he will escape the homer-happy environs of his home field to pitch at Atlanta. Second, the Braves are the worst team in the league against left-handed pitchers and it's not even close. Their power is non-existent and their wOBA of .257 isn't much better. Finnegan is coming off his best start of the year and should just build upon that today.

Tom Koehler (SP, MIA) @ San Diego Padres

Solid Stream

Koehler gets a right-handed pitcher's dream matchup tonight as he will take on the Padres in San Diego. He will enjoy facing one of the weakest offenses in baseball in spacious Petco Park. Against right-handed pitching, the Padres have a wOBA of just .279 and an ISO of .136. Add in their strikeout rate of 24.0%, which ranks fourth-highest in the league, and Koehler is in a good spot to put up some numbers in this outing.

Starting Pitchers to Fade in Daily Fantasy Baseball

Doug Fister (SP, HOU) @ St. Louis Cardinals

Fister is coming off a solid string of outings as he's only allowed four earned runs over his past four starts. More impressive is the fact he gets the job done with a below-average strikeout rate of 5.45 per nine innings. Unfortunately for him, he has to face off against a Cardinals lineup that is one of the tops in the league when facing right-handed pitching. Despite Fister's recent success, you can surely do better at the pitcher spot today.

Chris Tillman (SP, BAL) @ Boston Red Sox

Tillman is in a similar situation as Fister. He's enjoyed a good deal of success this season, but he is taking on a Red Sox lineup that has been a handful for opposing pitchers this season. Tillman just isn't worth the risk against a Red Sox offense that is tops in the league in wOBA against right-handed pitching.
