Daily Fantasy Leagues - FanDuel Lineup Picks (6/17)

JohnnyCueto1P: Johnny Cueto ($10,300): On a day full of aces, Cueto stands out as the top option tonight. He is coming off a season-high 12 strikeouts in six innings against Los Angeles. On the season, he has a sparkling 1.85 ERA and 109 strikeouts against just 22 walks. Pittsburgh has been hitting better lately, but they are still in the bottom half of the league in runs scored. Cueto should be a favorite to win today and he could put up huge strikeout numbers.

C: Jonathan Lucroy ($4,400): Lucroy is the highest priced catcher for a reason tonight; he is absolutely on a tear, hitting nearly .400 over the last two weeks along with four home runs. He also has a nice matchup with the left-handed Wade Miley tonight, who has given up six or more hits in six straight games. Even at a high price, you should feel confident in the Brewers catcher.

1B: Anthony Rizzo ($3,600): Speaking of players who are on fire, Rizzo also four home runs over the past two weeks with 12 runs scored. He now has 14 homers and 37 RBI on the year, which has proven to Cubs fans that he's a great building block for the future. The Marlins are also tossing out Anthony DeSclafani, who only has two starts on the season and was roughed up in his last game.

2B: Daniel Murphy ($3,200): Murphy has found a nice spot in the two-hole in the Mets lineup. He has hits in nine of his last 10 games and has scored a run in seven of those contests. Even though he is not a huge source of power, Murphy can contribute across the board as he has 11 stolen bases, 44 runs and 26 RBI on the season.

3B: Conor Gillaspie ($2,900): Gillaspie makes for a nice value play tonight against Matt Cain. For his career, he hits nearly 100 points higher against right-handed pitching. He has struggled in the past few games, but last week he went three straight starts with two hits apiece, showing he has the ability to get hot in a hurry. Normally, a matchup with Cain is one to avoid, however with the number of aces going tonight and Cain’s recent struggles, this may be one you want to focus on.

SS: Rafael Furcal ($2,900): After a rough 0-for-6 return from the disabled list, Furcal has gotten three hits in his last two games. He was given the day off yesterday, so that should mean he is at the top of the lineup again today against the Cubs. Another player who won’t wow you with power, Furcal is still a menace on the base for Marlins team that is significantly better at home, which they will be today.

OF: Hunter Pence ($2,200): By far the easiest play on the board for me today is Pence. Not only is he at a ridiculously low price, but he is hitting very well. Prior to last night he was 8-for-17 in his prior four games including a double and home run. Pence also has one of the best matchups on the board, as he faces left handed John Danks who has been up and down all season. Look for Pence to continue his roll tonight and possibly hit a home run.
