Top MLB DFS Stacks For FanDuel, DraftKings - Daily Fantasy Baseball (5/31/24)

kyle tucker fantasy baseball rankings MLB news draft sleepers DFS lineup picks

The top MLB DFS stacks for FanDuel and DraftKings GPP tournaments on May 31, 2024. Use Kipp's MLB DFS stacks to build winning daily fantasy baseball lineups.

Welcome, RotoBallers, to a brand new MLB DFS article for the 2024 season! We will still be bringing you a full slate breakdown every day, but this companion piece is intended to help you determine which offenses you are going to stack in your tournament (GPP) lineups.

Since we get some of our biggest slates on Tuesdays and Fridays, that's when you can expect to see this additional DFS content. We will break down some of the more popular teams to stack and add some sneakier options, too!

This article will provide my favorite hitting stacks for daily fantasy baseball on DraftKings and FanDuel on 5/31/2024. Today's main slate kicks off at 7:05 p.m. EDT on both sites. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for MLB and other sports here. Don't forget to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups!

MLB DFS: Chalky Stacks

Cleveland Guardians vs. Patrick Corbin (WAS)

Projected Team Total: 4.5 runs

The Guardians have been on an absolute tear lately, and while some of that production is due to a recent trip to Coors Field, they were still producing prior to their most recent series. Over the previous two weeks, the Guardians have posted a 133 wRC+ mark vs. left-handers, which is the sixth-best mark over that span. Jose Ramirez has been on fire over this same span as well as he has posted a 1.353 OPS with seven home runs and 19 RBI. He is joined by David Fry, who has tormented left-handed pitching this season to the tune of posting a 1.384 OPS with four home runs across 64 PA.

The Guardians will be up against Patrick Corbin, who has seen his share of struggles in 2024. He currently owns a 6.12 ERA and an abysmal 1.69 WHIP. He has been lit up by right-handed hitters, especially, as they have clobbered eight home runs and posted a .323 AVG. The Nationals bullpen has also been average at best as they have posted a 3.73 ERA and allowed a .243 BAA.

Favorite Combo of Hitters:

Jose Ramirez, Josh Naylor, David Fry

Baltimore Orioles vs. Aaron Civale (TB)

Projected Team Total: 4.5 runs

While the Orioles have posted just a 109 wRC+ vs. right-handers over the previous two weeks, this does place them in the top 10 in baseball over that span. This stack is also more about the pitching on the other side than it is about the potent O's offense.

Aaron Civale will toe the rubber, and this is good news for Baltimore as he has posted an ugly 5.72 ERA and 1.34 WHIP thus far in 2024. He has allowed four or more earned runs in four of his previous seven starts. He has also allowed 11 total home runs thus far, six vs. right-handers and five vs. left-handers. When Civale is done, the Rays will deploy a bullpen that ranks seventh worst in the league in ERA with a mark of 4.37.

Favorite Combo of Hitters:

Gunnar Henderson, Ryan O'Hearn, Colton Cowser, Anthony Santander

Philadelphia Phillies vs. Miles Mikolas (STL)

Projected Team Total: 4.5 runs

The Phillies will always be a chalky stack considering the offense they put on the field each night. They have posted a 90 wRC+ mark vs. right-handers over the previous two weeks, but are capable of breaking out on any given night. Bryce Harper is one guy to look at as he has posted an OPS of .808 with three bombs and 10 RBI over the previous two weeks. He has also posted a .930 OPS against right-handers this season.

The Phillies will be facing Miles Mikolas, who has allowed three or more earned runs in seven of his 11 starts this season. He has also allowed nine home runs this season and is allowing a .295 BAA to left-handed hitters. The Cardinals bullpen also ranks in the bottom half of the league in terms of ERA (3.97) and home runs allowed (22).

Favorite Combo of Hitters:

Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber, Bryson Stott, Edmundo Sosa, Brandon Marsh

MLB DFS: Contrarian Stacks

Houston Astros vs. Pablo Lopez (MIN)

Projected Team Total: 4.5 runs

Houston would normally qualify as a chalky stack; however, it has been struggling a bit this season and will be up against an ace in Pablo Lopez. That being said, Houston is starting to heat up, as noted by its 122 wRC+ mark against right-handers over the previous two weeks, ranking it seventh best in baseball. Kyle Tucker has led the way as he has five home runs and a .957 OPS over the previous two weeks.

Lopez, who would normally be avoided, has shown some struggles in 2024. He has allowed 13 earned runs over his previous two starts and three or more earned runs in seven starts this season. Left-handed hitters have especially given him trouble as they have posted a .265 AVG and smacked seven home runs off of him.

Favorite Combo of Hitters:

Jose Altuve, Kyle Tucker, Yordan Alvarez, Jeremy Pena

Kansas City Royals vs. Dylan Cease (SD)

Implied Team Total: 3.5 runs

Kansas City has been sneaky good offensively this season and is posting a 122 wRC+ mark vs. right-handers over the previous two weeks. Bobby Witt Jr. is the obvious play here, but take a look at Vinnie Pasquantino for a cheaper option as he has collected hits in four of his previous seven games.

While most folks will avoid the Royals due to them facing Dylan Cease, he has actually struggled a bit lately as he has allowed 12 earned runs over his last 16 1/3 innings pitched. He has also been a victim of the long ball recently as he has allowed four home runs over his previous three starts.

Favorite Combo of Hitters:

Maikel Garcia, Bobby Witt Jr., Vinnie Pasquantino, Salvador Perez
