MLB DFS Picks Today: Daily Fantasy Baseball Strategy and Tips For FanDuel, DraftKings (8/30/25)

Ben Rice - Fantasy Baseball Prospects, Waiver Wire Pickups, Draft Sleepers

Andy's top DraftKings and FanDuel MLB DFS picks for today, Saturday, 8/30/25. His favorite daily fantasy baseball lineup sleepers and value picks for DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Welcome Back, RotoBallers! Happy Saturday! We have another action-packed nine-game slate this evening. On the hitting side, we have the high-powered Chicago Cubs taking a trip to Coors Field, which could be an offensive explosion.

On the pitching side, we will see two of the top arms in the NL West in favorable matchups, which will likely be popular selections on this slate.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 8/30/2025, with the slate starting at 7:10 PM EST. The lineup picks will showcase elite players, mid-priced options, and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is always essential.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Cam Schlittler, NYY at CHW ($8.5K DK/$9.1K FD)

Since the start of August, Cam Schlittler has been one of the most dominant pitchers in the sport. Over his last five starts, the rookie right-hander has posted an elite 1.63 ERA with a 1.01 WHIP. Across these 27 2/3 innings, the right-hander has struck out 31 hitters and served up 10 walks.

While the White Sox have posted the sixth-lowest K% since July 15, Schlitter is still a top play given his recent dominance.

Nick Pivetta, SD at MIN ($9.6K DK/$9.6K FD)

Nick Pivetta has been a popular DFS target of mine throughout the summer, and he should remain a top play this evening facing the Minnesota Twins. In his last three outings (18 2/3 innings), the right-hander has racked up 22 punchouts while posting a 1.93 ERA and an excellent 0.80 WHIP.

He will face a Twins team that has generated a low 98 wRC+ and a moderate 22.3% K rate since July 15.

Tyler Glasnow, LAD vs. ARI ($9.4K DK/$9.2K FD)

My final pitcher to target is Tyler Glasnow of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Glasnow is coming off a rough outing, where he only struck out three hitters and allowed four walks to the Padres. However, facing a Diamondbacks team that has struggled to draw walks should put Glasnow in a great position to bounce back.

Since July 15, the Diamondbacks have posted the four lowest BB% and a high 22.4% K rate. Given his elite strikeout upside, Glasnow is always worth considering on a slate, even when coming off a disappointing showing.

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

All advanced hitter metrics referenced are from July 15 and on

Ben Rice, C/1B - NYY ($4.7K DK/$3.3K FD)

The 26-year-old has finally begun to see consistent at-abts and has not slowed down. Over his last 11 games entering Friday, Rice has posted an elite .359/.468/.821 slash line with one double, five home runs, and a 10:8 K:BB.

The catcher-turned-first baseman will have a top matchup to stay hot, facing Shane Smith of the White Sox. Smith has found success with his four-seamer, but his No. 2 pitch, his sinker, has not been very successful. This month, this pitch has generated a high .474 xwOBA. When facing sinkers from right-handed pitching, Rice has generated a remarkable 1.019 xSLG.

Rice is a top play on this slate.

Michael Busch, 1B - CHC ($5.1K DK/$3.6K FD)

After a rough stretch through the first half of August, Michael Busch has begun to find his footing. Over the last 10 contests, Busch has posted a .286/.342/.547 line with three doubles and one home run. He is in a great spot to find success this evening, facing sinker-heavy right-hander McCade Brown.

When facing sinkers from right-handed pitching, Busch has generated an elite .769 xSLG with a .454 xwOBA, both of which are the highest marks on the team. Playing in Coors Field, Busch is a smash at his price.

Ryan Ritter, 2B on DK, SS on FD - COL ($3K DK/$2.8K FD)

My final infielder also comes from this contest, but on the other side. Ritter has been singing a hot bat since returning from the IL, carrying a .294/.314/.412 line over his last 10. During this stretch, he has tallied at least one hit in all but one game.

This evening, the rookie infielder will face Javier Assad of the Cubs, who has struggled to deliver his No. 2 pitch, his cutter. When facing cutters from right-handed pitching, Ritter has been the team's best hitter against cutters since July 15, boasting an elite 1.014 xSLG with a .581 xwOBA. He is a top sleeper pick if you look to stack your team with several high-end Cubs.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

All advanced hitter metrics referenced are from July 15 and on

Ramon Laureano, OF - SD ($3.8K DK/$3K FD)

Ramon Laureano has quietly put together a very productive season and has yet to slow down. Over his last 15 games, the former Oriole has posted an eye-catching .357/.402/.685 line with three doubles, five home runs, 13 runs, and 12 RBI.

This event, Laureano is slated to face Minnesota right-hander Taj Bradley, who had a rough Twins debut. The 31-year-old should continue to say hot, facing the four-seamer-heavy right-hander. When seeing this pitch from right-handers, Laureano has generated a stellar .704 xSLG and .463 xwOBA, both of which are the highest marks on the team since the middle of July.

If you are looking to target the Padres, make sure Laureano is at the top of your lineup.

Brenton Doyle, OF - COL ($3.7K DK/$3.4K FD)

Noticing a trend here? The other Rockie I believe is worth emphasizing is outfielder Brenton Doyle. Like Ritter (mentioned above), Doyle has found great success not too recently, but especially when facing cutters. When seeing this pitch from right-handed pitchers, the 27-year-old has posted a strong .868 xSLG with a .515 xwOBA.

Over his last 19 contests, Doyle has been one of the game's top hitters, carrying a .333/.357/.667 line with a 1.024 OPS. Given his recent surge and top match, he is one of the best plays on the slate.

Seiya Suzuki, OF - CHC ($4.9K DK/$4.1K FD)

Like his teammate Busch, Suzuki also has a prime matchup facing sinker-heavy Brown. When seeing sinkers from right-handed pitching since July 15, Suzuki has generated an eye-catching .681 xSLG, .457 xwOBA, and a .310 xBA.

While he entered this contest carrying a modest .152/.326/.252 lines over the last 10 contests, fantasy managers should expect the 31-year-old to bounce back in a big way this evening.

Others To Consider:

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

All advanced hitter metrics referenced are from July 15 and on

1. Chicago Cubs at Colorado Rockies - Game Stack

As shown in my player notes above, I am quite high on this contest and believe it could be a slate-breaking match. I would suggest targeting both lineups. The Cubs will face Brown, who has logged just 3 2/3 innings in the majors. During this stint, Brown's top pitch, his sinker, has generated a .392 xwOBA.

For the Cubs, Assad will take the bump, who has a strong primary pitch (his sinker), but has very rough secondary pitches. His No. 2 pitch, his cutter, has generated an alarming .551 xwOBA this month. Overall, he carries a 4.77 xERA, which is nearly a whole point higher than his base 3.86 ERA.

Favorite Combo (Cubs): Busch, Suzuki, Swanson, Happ

Favorite Combo (Rockies): Ritter, Tovar, Doyle, Moniak

2. New York Yankees at Shane Smith

The New York Yankees have a great matchup against the right-hander Smith. While Smith is coming off a seven-inning victory, he carries a hefty 35th percentile xERA, which suggests he is due for a slight regression.

As noted above, his four-seamer has been productive; his secondary pitch, his sinker, is due for a big step back. In August, Smith began to rely heavily on his sinker, and this pitch has posted a high .686 xSLG with a .474 xwOBA. The Yankees should be in a prime spot to attack this pitch all evening, especially given how he has continued to deploy it more often in the second half.

Favorite Combo: Rice, Judge, Grisham, Volpe

3. San Diego Padres at Taj Bradley

My final stack is the Padres facing Bradley. In his Twins debut on August 24, the right-hander was hit hard, allowing nine hits and seven runs to the Chicago White Sox.

Bradley relies heavily on his four seamer, deploying it 46.8% of the time this season. Overall, this pitch carries a high .365 xwOBA and a .433 xSLG. Through 116 1/3 innings, Bradley carries a hefty 4.95 ERA with a 1.32 WHIP.

Favorite Combo: Laureano, Machando, Cronenworth, Tatis Jr.
