DFS Lineup Optimizer Overview

The optimizer works with FanDuel, DraftKings and Yahoo while supporting every slate for that day.

The core concept of the optimizer is to take daily fantasy projections and help you use them to build anywhere from one to 100 lineups in a ready to use format. The first step is to determine which site and slate you will be creating lineups to use.

Optimizer Tabs & Tool Options

Once you have chosen the site and slate you are playing, you can go through each position to find which players the optimizer likes for the day.

1) The Projections tab will list each player on the slate along with their salary and projection for both cash games and GPP’s.  The cash value will be a bit lower of a projection each day, but is a more likely outcome, while the GPP projection will be a higher value based on maximum potential of the player.

2) The Games tab will be your go to for lineups on that slate. The teams expected lineup will be input as a default, and when the lineup is confirmed you will see a green dot appear next to the order.

3) The Players tab is next.  Like the projections tab, this will give a variety of information. However, on this tab we will get in depth information such as points per $1,000 (PTS/$1k) which is often a great way to find a good value play for each position.  Also in this tab you can get useful items such as park factor, run total, and game theory which are all components that help to determine value.  The last set of data in the players tab is advanced stats for the opposing starting pitcher.  This will help you to find opposing pitchers who are vulnerable to attack, or in the pitchers case a team that perhaps strikes out more than average.

4) The Exclude and Injuries tab include players that you would not like to have in your lineups or are out due to injury.

5) The Lock tab will feature any players that you manually lock in as being a necessity to your lineups.

Generate DFS Lineups

The last, and most important, tool is the actual Lineup Generator. You will first need to specify the number of lineups you would like created, ranging from one to 100.  Once you determine the number of lineups you want, simply click the Generate Optimal Lineups button and let the optimizer go to work!

Much like the previous screens, this will show where each batter is hitting, remembering green dots indicate confirmed lineups and yellow indicating likely lineups, along with salary and point projections.

If you input your lineups manually, you can use this page to do so.  If you are a large field player you can also export these lineups to .CSV form by clicking the Download All button.  When you click this, a .csv file will be saved on your computer and be available for upload into the site you have chosen.

This will be the first in a series of articles on the optimizer, be sure to check back in the following weeks to see a more detailed guide to using specific tools within the optimizer to help maximize your profits.
