MLB DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel Expert Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks For Today (4/5/25)

Elly De La Cruz - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Koby's top DraftKings and FanDuel MLB DFS picks for today, Saturday, 4/5/25. His favorite daily fantasy baseball lineup sleepers and value picks for DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Happy Saturday, RotoBallers! Hopefully, everyone has made some decent cash this week on MLB. We have a split slate as it will likely be most Saturdays this season.  I'll be covering the seven evening games tonight, and if you need help with the early slate, I'd recommend jumping in our RotoBaller Discord to chat with our staff and hardcore MLB DFS players.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 4/5/2025. The slate starts at 7:05 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is always essential.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Brady Singer at MIL ($8.1K DraftKings; $10K FanDuel)

I shouldn't be surprised that FanDuel blew Singer's price to the moon, but he is in an elite spot here. Brady started the season with eight strikeouts in seven innings and only gave up one hit to the Rangers! Texas has been a tough team to strike out, but Singer did it fairly easily here. He now gets a Milwaukee team that is striking out 27% of the time to RHP.

Singer has the stuff to dominate this Milwaukee lineup. So far, he has a 15.2% SwStr%, so he should have no issue blowing through them. We just saw Kris Bubic and Michael Lorenzen strike the Brewers out 7+ times. Singer could be a sneaky ladder spot up to 10 for strikeout bettors.

Bryce Miller at SFG ($9.0K DraftKings; $9.7K FanDuel)

Bryce Miller was a bit underwhelming in his season debut, where he only had four strikeouts and gave up three runs. He was an out away from the Quality Start but was unfortunately taken out with 90 pitches, which is a good sign for us that all restrictions with Miller have been lifted.

He gets a phenomenal matchup here as the Giants have been striking out at a 30% rate so far this season to RHP. During last season's campaign, Bryce Miller had a 24% K% and an 11% SwStr%. As long as Bryce Miller can keep the walks low, which he can occasionally struggle with, then Miller should be able to dominate this righty-heavy lineup.

JP Sears at COL ($7.5K DraftKings; $8.2K FanDuel)

JP is my cheap GPP pitcher. I don't love the park factor here at Coors, but Colorado has been horrible against Lefty pitchers so far to start the season. They have struck out 37% of the time against left-handed pitchers in 51 PA this season. Sears is a solid lefty, and in his first outing against Seattle, he had seven strikeouts in 6 2/3 innings.

Sears has what it takes to go longer into games, and as long as he doesn't get hit hard early, he should have no issue. His SwStr% is only about 11% so far, but with how poorly Colorado has been to start the season, Sears should be able to take advantage of the poor lineup.

Also consider: Robbie Ray vs. SEA, Taj Bradley at TEX

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Elly De La Cruz - SS, CIN vs. Elvin Rodriguez ($3.9K DK; $2.7K FD)

Elly has had a rough go in Milwaukee so far, but he gets a favorable matchup here against the young Elvin Rodriguez. Last season, he batted .275 with 19 home runs against RHP, and so far this season, he is batting a solid .350 with two homers. He should be able to get back on track here against Elvin, who was blown up for four runs in four innings against KC in his last start.

Tyler Soderstrom – C/1B, ATH vs. German Marquez ($3.9K DK; $3.4K FD)

Soderstrom reached base three times in last night's game against the Rockies, getting two hits and a walk on his way to a 15 FP night. Soderstrom is batting just a tad under .300 at .296 with an impressive SLG of .667. He has become a strong hitter compared to last year, and if he keeps this up, he might be an emerging star for the Athletics.

Otto Lopez – 2B, MIA vs. AJ Smith-Shawver ($3.3K DK; $2.9K FD)

Otto has been kinda flying under the radar this year, and I like that as long as he stays cheap! Otto has 10 hits on the season so far and is batting .303 to start the season. He has a .552 SLG and already a wRC+ of 163! He hits righties extremely well, as he hit .289 against them last season. He isn't necessarily a home run threat, but he has shown power in a couple of games this season.

Also consider: Andres Giminez (TOR), Jose Ramirez (CLE), Xavier Edwards (MIA)

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Mike Trout - OF, LAA vs. Tanner Bibee ($5.3K DK; $4K FD)

Trout has homered in back-to-back games and looks to be finally back in gear for the Angels. He is only batting .160 to start the season, but has three straight games of getting a hit and scoring at least 18 FD points.

If Trout is back, then I want him while he is still fairly reasonably priced because it won't take long before he is one of the priciest players on the slate if he keeps up his ability to hit the ball hard.

Julio Rodriguez - OF, SEA vs. Robbie Ray ($5K DK; $3.4K FD)

Seems like Julio just needed to get out of Seattle to start seeing the ball better... Julio had three hits, including a big home run against San Francisco yesterday. Last season, Julio hit LHP for .268 with an OPS of .735. San Francisco is a much more hitter-friendly park than Seattle is, so I could see Julio replicating this a couple of times while on the road trip.

Jung Hoo Lee - OF, SFG vs. Bryce Miller ($3.9K DK; $2.7K FD)

I don't usually take guys going against those who are pitching, but for GPP and price purposes, I like Jung Hoo Lee quite a bit as he has at least one hit in all but one game this season, and even in that game he finished with at least 12 FP. He hit righties for .277 last season and is a solid contact guy with plus speed if he can get on base.

Also consider: Brent Rooker (ATH), Steven Kwan (CLE), Kyle Stowers (MIA)

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

1. Athletics vs. German Marquez

It's been a while since Marquez played a full season. In 2022, he was hit hard at home, where he had an ERA of 6.70. Both lefties and righties hit him hard, but lefties hit him for .335 wOBA.

With this having the highest total on the slate, Athletics are going to be a heavy stack for me and likely a lot of others in cash games.

Fave combo - Butler, Rooker, Soderstrom, Langeliers

2. Reds vs. Elvin Rodriguez

This might not be for the faint of heart, as the Reds have looked rough in their last four games, only scoring two runs in that time, but I think this is a good spot for them to rebound against a young pitcher in Elvin Rodriguez who looked rough in his first start of the season.

The Reds have plenty of talent to turn it around and make this one about them. Elvin was blown up during Spring Training to this season, where he had a 7.59 ERA across 10.2 innings. This is the perfect bounce-back spot for the Reds.

Fave combo - De La Cruz, Friedl, Candelario, Lux

3. Marlins vs. AJ Smith-Shawver

I think the Marlins could be a sneaky spot here. I'm not impressed with AJ Smith-Shawver, and I think this could be a big spot for the Marlins to blow him up. The Marlins looked terrible last night, but what else can you expect going up against an elite guy like Spencer Schwellenbach?

AJ had a BB% of 14.3% in his first outing, and he isn't a huge strikeout threat at 19%. AJ has been specifically hit harder by RHH both this year and last year. So guys like Otto Lopez and Xavier Edwards, who have been leading this Marlins charge, are great places to start.

Fave Combo - Lopez, Edwards, Stowers, Hill(if he plays)

Also consider: Mariners vs. Robbie Ray, Guardians vs. Kochanowicz
