MLB DFS: DraftKings, FanDuel Expert Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks For Today (4/14/25)

Freddie Freeman - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Waiver Wire Pickups, MLB News

Brandon's top DraftKings and FanDuel MLB DFS picks for today, Monday, 4/14/25. His favorite daily fantasy baseball lineup sleepers and value picks for DFS on DraftKings and FanDuel.

Welcome back, RotoBallers! My name is Brandon, and this is my debut with the MLB team! You can find me and my work with the NHL and Soccer teams, respectively!

Tonight, we have an eight-game slate, and the currently live top-three highest implied team totals are: Dodgers with 5.7, New York Yankees with 4.9, and Toronto with 4.6.

This article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 4/14/2025, with the slate starting at 7:05 p.m. EDT. The lineup picks will range from some elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. Monitoring injury news and today's MLB starting lineups is always essential.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Sonny Gray vs. HOU - DK $8.5K || FD $9.8K

Sonny Gray is dishing to start the season. He has six, nine, and four strikeouts, respectively, over his first three starts. In that span, he gave up 12 hits, four home runs, two walks, eight runs, and eight earned runs.

Gray will be pitching in one of the prime spots tonight. The Houston Astros have struggled mightily to start the season against right-handed pitchers. They are the worst in strikeout percentage, and they are bottom-ten or worst in every other meaningful metric. Projected to strike out at least five, Gray is set up to reach value.

Easton Lucas vs. ATL - DK $8K || FD $9K

After striking out only three in his season debut against the Washington Nationals, Easton Lucas had a big performance at Fenway Park, striking out eight. In his two starts in 2025, he has conceded only four total hits! He has also walked three.

The Atlanta Braves have similarly started their season to that of the Boston Red Sox. Although they do not strike out nearly as often. Despite their ‘better’ plate discipline, Lucas is still projected to send six hitters swinging away. For only $8K on DraftKings, he will have every opportunity to reach value.

Others To Consider (Cash/GPP):

  • Grant Homes at TOR (DK $6.5K || FD $7.3K)

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Bobby Witt Jr. - SS, KC vs. Carlos Carrasco (DK $5.9K || FD $4K)

Bobby Witt Jr. is expected to garner some of the highest ownership on the slate between all hitting positions. The shortstop is playing lights out and has produced double-digit fantasy points in four of his last five games. In his five games and 14 at-bats, he has seven singles, three doubles, five walks, two stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI.

On the Royals roster with at least five at-bats, against right-handed pitchers, Witt has the second-best wOBA and the best SLG, .348 and .440 respectively. Projected Yankees starter Carlos Carrasco has given up 14 hits and 10 earned runs through three starts. Witt and the Royals are expected to have a big night.

Freddie Freeman - 1B, LAD vs. Antonio Senzatela (DK $4.9K || FD $3.7K)

Freddie Freeman has been hot and cold to start the season. The first baseman started strong in his season debut series against the Detroit Tigers, where he posted three singles, one double, two home runs, two runs, and four RBIs in three games and 12 at-bats before hurting his repaired ankle. He was out for nearly two weeks and came back in the recent Chicago Cubs series and produced one hit and one run in two games and seven at-bats.

Luckily, Freeman will be facing expected Rockies' starter Antonio Senzatela. The right-handed pitcher in 2024 was a bottom-ten pitcher in the majority of meaningful metrics. Bottom-ten! Unsurprisingly, that form has continued in 2025. In three starts and 248 pitches through 14 innings, Senzatela has conceded 27 hits, two home runs, three walks, 10 runs, and eight earned runs while striking out six. It is a small sample size, but Freeman in 2025 is hitting above .500 in both wOBA and SLG against right-handed pitchers.

Zach McKinstry - 3B/OF, DET vs. Tyler Alexander (DK $3.2K || FD $2.8K)

Can Zach McKinstry and the Detroit Lions ship a contest tonight? It remains to be seen. However, McKinstry is swinging. In his last five games and 16 at-bats, he has accumulated six singles, one triple, one home run, one walk, three runs, and six RBIs. The hybrid infielder is smoking the ball against left-handed pitchers, too. Of all Detroit hitters with at least five at-bats, McKinstry has a .633 wOBA and a .909 SLG.

It remains to be seen how long expected starter Tyler Alexander goes on the mound in tonight’s matchup, considering his longest tenure this season was five innings. In his four appearances and 12 innings pitched, he has conceded eight hits, one home run, seven walks, four runs, and four earned runs, while striking out 12. Can McKinstry keep his hot form going?

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Fernando Tatis Jr. - OF, SD vs. Jameson Taillon (DK $6K || FD $4.2K)

Fernando Tatis Jr. is another batter swinging well right now. The outfielder has five singles, three home runs, three walks, one stolen base, six runs, and three RBIs. Within the Padres organization, with at least five at-bats, Tatis Jr. has the second-best wOBA and SLG against right-handed pitchers.

The Chicago Cubs' projected starter, Jameson Taillon, is struggling so far this season. He has conceded 18 hits, four home runs, four walks, 11 runs, and 11 earned runs. As a bottom-100 pitcher last year and his poor form this season, Tatis and the Padres are due for another explosive game tonight.

Teoscar Hernandez - OF, LAD vs. Antonio Senzatela (DK $5K || FD $3.9K)

Despite not producing as much as expected, Teoscar Hernandez has had one hit in four of his last five games. The outfielder for the Dodgers has produced six singles, one home run, two runs, and three RBIs in his last five games and 19 at-bats. His metrics are less than ideal to start the season, too. Hernandez is hitting below a .300 wOBA against right-handed pitchers.

Luckily, he is going up against the aforementioned Rockies starter, Antonio Senzatela. If the former can lock in early, he has immense potential in this soft matchup.

Gavin Sheets - OF, SDP vs. Jameson Taillon (DK $3.1K || FD $2.8K)

Considering this outfielder’s record, many will say he is starting the season on a strong note. In his most recent five games and 12 at-bats, Gavin Sheets has accumulated two singles, one home run, two walks, one run, and two RBIs. He is also the third-best in the Padres' order against left-handed pitchers with a .411 wOBA and a .571 SLG.

As previously mentioned, projected Cubs starter Jameson Taillon is in poor form to start 2025. Sheets does not need to have a big game to reach value. This makes him an invaluable roster piece to help pay up for the bigger bats.

Others To Consider (CASH/GPP):

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

1. Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Antonio Senzatela

As mentioned, Antonio Senzatela was a bottom-10 pitcher in 2024, and so far this year, nothing has changed. In three starts and 248 pitches through 14 innings, Senzatela has conceded 27 hits, two home runs, three walks, 10 runs, and eight earned runs while striking out six.

The Dodgers are a top-three in all major hitting metrics against right-handed pitchers to start the season and top-ten in strikeout percentage. It would be surprising to see Senzatela last five innings.

Favorite Combo: Freeman, Ohtani, Betts, Edman

2. San Diego Padres vs. Jameson Taillon

The San Diego Padres are the fourth-best team in baseball against right-handed pitchers to start the season, excluding ISO. They are also a top-ten team in strikeout percentage, displaying their plate discipline at its fullest.

Add in 2024 bottom-50 pitcher Jameson Taillon, and things are looking bright in America’s Finest City.

Favorite Combo: Tatis, Arraez, Machado, Sheets

3. Detroit Tigers vs. Tyler Alexander

As the GPP stack, Detroit has prime value tonight in a soft matchup against Tyler Alexander. The previously mentioned pitcher was a bottom-100 pitcher in 2024, and his 2025 campaign has not started any better.

The Tigers are bottom-five in strikeout percentage and a middle-of-the-park team across the rest of the metric board. Can the righty platoon get it done against Alexander?

Favorite Combo: Torres, Torkelson, Malloy, McKinstry
