ANALYSIS: The injury bug should have seriously detracted from the Yankees season, but they managed to find excellent talent in their farm system and off waivers throughout the year, allowing them to cruise into playoff position despite major losses.
Mike Ford is one of the many players that emerged out of this mess, as he has managed a respectable .233/.327/.519 slash line with 11 home runs, 26 runs scored and 19 RBI on the year.
Ford is now in more of a reserve role with the return of Luke Voit, although he still plays enough to merit fantasy consideration in deeper leagues. Plus, he is hitting .308 with six of his home runs since August 25, and we are at the point in the fantasy season where players on a hot streak are worth adding just to give your team that little extra to close out the campaign.
Ford isn't worth a look in 10 or even 12-teamers, but anything beyond that he's worth taking a shot at.
