LPL & LCK DFS Picks (3/09/22) - DraftKings and FanDuel League of Legends Daily Fantasy

Nathan's expert League of Legends (LoL) DFS advice and DraftKings, FanDuel lineup picks for LPL & LCK on 03/09/22. His top LoL value plays and eSports DFS recommendations.

Welcome, all, to another day of the greatest DFS game and Esport to follow. Really interesting slate tonight with only one lopsided game in terms of the betting odds. I had a couple of puppy emergencies today so I will keep it light.

Roster changes will be addressed if need be when mentioning each team.  As a friendly reminder, if you can't stomach any sub risk or don't enjoy waking up mid-REM sleep, then figure a way to roster players that don't hold any sub risk. The LCK is tricky when it comes to starting lineups, and we are usually given the LCK starting lineups about an hour or so before lock, for the first series. (@KorizonEsports on Twitter is a good lineup source, as well as @kenzi131) We are going to try and project starters based on who has recently been starting. LPL starters are found earlier and on Twitter too.

I'll provide my League of Legends advice, analysis, and picks, for this LPL & LCK slate on DraftKings and FanDuel that locks at 3:00 AM on Wednesday, March 9th, 2022. If you have any questions about the slate or anything please reach out to me on Twitter @nvanhareDFS. I'll do my best to provide some useful analysis. The odds listed are from Pinnacle. Let's jump right into the matchups

LCK Matches

3:00 AM: DRX (-227) vs. NS (+173)

DRX has continued to show up game after game, seemingly to spite my non-belief repeatedly. This game is pretty lopsided in their favor though as I'm finally turning the corner in believing in them as well as having a total lack of trust in the NS team. NS has repeatedly found themselves in spots where they should be winning games but they just cannot seem to get it done. This leads to them being relatively underwhelming in DFS while their opponents, who often have to find a comeback, have more upside than your normal LCK based game.

I like DRX stacks in both cash and GPPs as they're very cheap overall and allow you to fit some interesting lineups. In addition, I think that NS is likely overlooked on a slate with 3 coinflip games so don't write them off entirely.

Top DRX plays: Zeka, Deft
Top NS plays: Ghost, Dread

6:00 AM: DWG (-200) vs. GEN (+155)

This is the more "exciting" game of the LCK set tonight, although it likely doesnt set up that well for fantasy purposes. These are two of the top teams in the LCK and while GEN is likely to be missing Chovy still, this should make for a good match. I like GEN in this spot to be honest, although winning the mid-lane is going to be tough for them with ShowMaker and Canyon in the vicinity. Quid is a good player and while he's not Chovy, he can fill in that gap pretty well.

I don't like either of these teams for cash lineups but I do really like GEN stacks in GPPs. I would probably stray away from 4 stacking them but the ownership is there.

Top GEN Plays: Quid, Ruler
Top DWG Plays:  ShowMaker, Canyon

LPL Matches

4:00 AM: RNG (-769) vs. LGD (+483)

There isn't a ton to say here. RNG is so favored in this matchup. LGD is a bottom of the barrel team and RNG is a league championship contender. The two teams are night and day. RNG stacks are a must in cash as they're the only "real" favorite on the slate. That being said they also have an insane ceiling so using them in GPP is also an acceptable route to go. Basically, LGD is off the table for me while RNG is a staple in my lineups.

Top RNG Plays: All of them, Xiaohu mostly

Top LGD Plays (if you play them somehow) :Jay, Eric

6:00 AM: UP (-185) vs. TT (+143)

This is the "best" DFS game on the slate. It has a high total, two teams that don't know how to end a game, and two teams known for their ceilings. In GPPs I would make this a priority. I have some biases on this game but I really think its just a coinflip, either side is fine to play in GPPs and I have no preference. Look to make use of this game often though.

Top UP Plays: Elk, Aliez

Top TT Plays: Chieftain, Ucal

Summary

  1. TLDR: RNG is too good, the rest of the games are coinflips, almost, and anything goes.
  2. GPP Stacks: RNG, TT/UP, basically anyone thats not GEN/DWG
  3. Cash Stacks: RNG, probably DRX.

Good luck tomorrow RotoBallers!
