LPL & LCK DFS Picks (1/26/22) - DraftKings and FanDuel League of Legends Daily Fantasy

Nathan's expert League of Legends (LoL) DFS advice and DraftKings, FanDuel lineup picks for LPL & LCK on 1/26/22. His top LoL value plays and eSports DFS recommendations.

Welcome, all, to another day of the greatest DFS game and Esport to follow. Really interesting slate tonight with only one lopsided game in terms of the betting odds.

Roster changes will be addressed if need be when mentioning each team.  As a friendly reminder, if you can't stomach any sub risk or don't enjoy waking up mid-REM sleep, then figure a way to roster players that don't hold any sub risk. The LCK is tricky when it comes to starting lineups, and we are usually given the LCK starting lineups about an hour or so before lock, for the first series. (@KorizonEsports on Twitter is a good lineup source, as well as @kenzi131) We are going to try and project starters based on who has recently been starting. LPL starters are found earlier and on Twitter too.

I'll provide my League of Legends advice, analysis, and picks, for this LPL & LCK slate on DraftKings and FanDuel that locks at 3:00 AM on Wednesday, January 26th, 2022. If you have any questions about the slate or anything please reach out to me on Twitter @nvanhareDFS. I'll do my best to provide some useful analysis. The odds listed are from Pinnacle. Let's jump right into the matchups

LCK Matches

3:00 AM: GEN.G (-702) vs. KDF (+485)

This is the most lopsided game that we have on the slate tonight. Gen.G is massively favored and for good reason. They are part of the top 3 of this league and no one really contests this tier of team here. Kwangdong Freecs is a pretty decent team, but they still are deservedly the underdogs here.

In cash games you are all but forced to take a stack of Gen.G in this texture of slate but in GPPs I think they are likely to be a team that is not owned as a full stack much. They generally have very low game totals and project poorly in most systems as a result. However, in many situations, Gen.G can pull out a high kill game. Games in the LCK are generally pretty close in skill, and as a result they last longer. If KDF shows up and plays above their median skill level, we might see a nice back and forth here as Gen.G is a team that is not afraid to do this.

Overall, GEN in cash or GPPs, KDF is a super interesting GPP play.

Top GEN plays: Lehends. Ruler
Top KDF plays: Ellim, Teddy

6:00 AM: DRX (-104) vs. BRO (-116)

Very fun game here. Two teams that are pretty underwhelming in terms of skill and results. Brion is always a favorite of mine in GPP. I actually think that DRX has struggled so much that Brion may even be very favored here and we might be able to justify using them in cash if it allows for better lineup constructions.

Brion is also a team that likes to pile on in their wins and give up relatively less deaths in their losses. It's tough to say the pace at which this game goes but I think in general I'm going to be targeting Brion a hefty amount on tonight's slate.

Top DRX Plays: Pyosik
Top BRO Plays: Hena, Lava

LPL Matches

4:00 AM: WBG (-103) vs. V5 (-117)

The LPL games tonight are hotly contested and I will want a piece of both sides in each game. Neither game is definitively favored one way or another and this makes for a really great GPP night in DFS.

I am very bullish on this V5 team in general and think that they are a bigger favorite than the line listed. Photic has really shown up and the team is working really well together overall. When a team like WBG is the opponent, there are many opportunities for early kills in order to stack the total of the game. TheShy and ON are going to be brutally bad in losses. These two players love the aggression and either show up and play out of their minds or completely throw the game off for their team.

I like the V5 side here in GPPs moreso than WBG just as a result of bias for the team. Don't get me wrong, WBG is definitely a talented team but I really think V5 contends this year. They've come a long way since spring 2020.

Top WBG plays: TheShy, huanfeng
Top V5 plays: Photic, Karsa

6:00 AM: LNG (-173) vs. FPX (+142)

I've been very biased towards this LNG team for a long time now. Even last year without Doinb or LvMao I was very interested in using them in all formats. For tonight I think they are the obvious pairing with Gen.G in your cash lineups but that's definitely up for debate based on how they project. Doinb and Tarzan have taken priority in this team vs last years Light dominated squad.

FPX makes for an interesting play in GPPs as Clid has taken over at the JNG spot. He is definitely a skill upgrade for the team as well as helps to alleviate the language barrier that Gori may be experiencing as he is new to the Chinese scene.

I really lean LNG here but we have to be aware that FPX has the ability to win.

Top LNG Plays: Tarzan, Doinb

Top FPX Plays: Clid, Lwx

Summary

  1. TLDR: Gen.G is very good but KDF is definitely underrated, LNG is more favored than the line suggests, Brion is better than DRX in my opinion, V5 is incredible.
  2. GPP Stacks: V5, KDF, BRO
  3. Cash Stacks: GEN, LNG.

Good luck tomorrow RotoBallers!
