Liverpool FPL Team Preview - Fantasy Premier League Predictions, Tips, Picks for 2024/25

Soccer - Fantasy Premier League, FPL, Team Previews

Liverpool's FPL team preview, predictions, tips, and picks for Fantasy Premier League lineups. RotoBaller's EPL fantasy football team previews for 2024/25.

Welcome to the 2024/25 Fantasy Premier League season, RotoBallers! The game has officially launched for the new season, and it's time to start preparing for another year of FPL. We will have you covered from the preseason in July until the final kick of the season in May and everything else that happens in between.

We've made it through the Champions (Man City) and runners-up (Arsenal) in our team previews, and now it's time to turn our focus to Liverpool. The Reds put up a brave title challenge through March last season but couldn't keep it together and tailed off towards the end of Jurgen Klopp's final season at Anfield. A domestic cup and a title battle were more than any fan hoped for in August 2023. However, a new era is on the horizon at Liverpool as Arne Slot comes over to the Premier League from the Eredivisie in the Netherlands.

The first deadline of the 2024/25 Fantasy Premier League season is August 16 at 1:30 p.m. ET, when Manchester United welcomes Fulham to open the campaign. Also, check out the rest of our excellent soccer coverage as the squad gets you all set for every English Premier League slate and UEFA Champions League game with our EPL DFS lineup picks and betting picks.

FPL Team Previews: Liverpool

After nine seasons under Jurgen Klopp, the Reds enter a new era under Arne Slot. The former Feyenoord coach brings an impressive record to England after leading the Dutch side to two domestic titles in three seasons. FPL managers will have to keep a close eye on the preseason for Liverpool as it should give us several clues on how they will attack and who is where in the pecking order. Unfortunately, this summer, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, and Cody Gakpo made deep runs at their respective continental competitions. So, it could be a while before we get those definitive answers.

Last Season's Liverpool Stats

  • League Finish: Third, 82 points
  • Most goals: Mohamed Salah, 18 goals
  • Most assists: Mohamed Salah, 12 assists
  • Most FPL Points: Mohamed Salah, 211 points

Who is your favorite Liverpool defender for the upcoming FPL campaign?

  • After an injury-hampered 2023/24 campaign, FPL lowered Trent Alexander-Arnold's (£7.0M) start price by one million. That could look incredibly silly by the end of the upcoming season. The English defender scored 150 or more FPL points in five straight seasons before last year. TAA is too talented not to hit that mark again. He is the most expensive defender in the game and can also be considered a price-point play. If the 25-year-old starts the season on a flat note, it will be easy to make a move to any other defender in FPL.

Which Liverpool midfielder is catching your eye?

  • There's no one more eye-catching in Liverpool's midfield than Mohamed Salah (£12.5M). The Egyptian King has seven consecutive seasons with at least 200 points and has at least 28 goal contributions (goals+assists) every year. Rumors are floating around that Arne Slot will deploy Salah as more of an inside forward for the 2024/25 campaign after the 32-year-old regularly hugged the sidelines under Jurgen Klopp. He's no longer a 25-goal-a-season type of forward but has become a much better playmaker for the Reds. Another 200-point season is in the cards for the Liverpool legend.

The Liverpool forward who will be bagging us some FPL points is...?

  • Based on their summer tournaments, Cody Gakpo (£7.5M) will have the edge over Darwin Nunez (£7.5M). Both Anfield attackers have the same FPL price, and while Nunez outscored Gakpo 132-106 last season, they were pretty much even in a points-per-minute metric. Gakpo has played in the Eredivisie and could have a leg up when it comes to adapting to his new manager's style of play. Nunez has the raw talent but must perform this season to make it to a fourth season with Liverpool. The Dutch forward is the leader in the clubhouse and is more likely to be in my Gameweek 1 squad than his Uruguayan teammate.

What run of fixtures favors Liverpool the most for the 2024/25 FPL season?

  • The beginning of the season is exceptionally kind to Liverpool. A Gameweek 3 test versus Man United at Old Trafford is the most challenging fixture until a Gameweek 9 trip to Arsenal. If the Anfield assets hit the ground running, they will shoot up in price because of this run of games. Their run of matches to begin the year gives me the confidence to bring in Mohamed Salah over Erling Haaland for the first part of the season.

How many Liverpool players will you have in your Gameweek 1 squad?

  • Alexander-Arnold and Salah are very likely in my Gameweek 1 team by the deadline on August 16. I may leave the final spot free to give myself some flexibility to watch a couple of games and pounce on the in-form striker. It won't be another defensive asset like Andrew Robertson (£6.0M) or Virgil van Dijk (£6.0M). Still, Gakpo, Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz (£7.5M), Diogo Jota (£7.5M), and Dominik Szoboszlai (£6.5M) are in contention for the final Liverpool slot.

What is one bold FPL prediction for any Liverpool player?

  • Remember the name Stefan Bajcetic. The 19-year-old is waiting in the wings at Anfield and might have already cracked the first team if not for a knee injury last year. Behind Mo Salah, Alexis Mac Allister, and Dominik Szobszlai, the Spanish midfielder will make the most starts in midfield for Liverpool and crack the 100-point mark in his first full FPL season.
