LCS DFS Picks for 7/10/20 - League of Legends Daily Fantasy for DraftKings, FanDuel

Aaron Radziucz's League of Leagues (LoL) analysis and LCS DFS lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings on 7/10/20. He discusses the LC LoL slate and his top targets for cash games and GPPs.

Hey there LoL DFS players and welcome back to RotoBaller's coverage of LCS for the Summer split on FanDuel and DraftKings.

Week five is upon us already! The first game each team plays this weekend is their last game of the first round-robin. I think we are really hitting our stride in the DFS game and here at Rotoballer the content never stops so let's get into this Friday night two-gamer.

Today I'll be bringing you my League of Legends advice, analysis, and picks, for the four-game LCS slate on FanDuel and DraftKings that locks on Friday, July 10th at 9:00 PM. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @Governor98. Thanks for reading, now let's get to the strategy and picks!

League of Legends DFS Basics

Since LCS contests are being offered on both FanDuel and DraftKings, it's important to note some pricing discrepancies from site to site, but the roster slots, scoring, and roster construction rules are almost entirely identical with the only exception being that FanDuel forces you to roster at least one player (or team slot) from a third team, while you can play only two teams among your seven roster slots on DraftKings.

  1. Stacking in LoL DFS lineups is very important. 4-3 stacks are the order of the day (on DraftKings) with 3-3-1 becoming more popular (and necessary on FanDuel) as people try to differentiate their lineups in these suddenly large-field GPPs.
  2. In LoL DFS, it is very important to focus on players from winning teams. Think in terms of baseball, one side of the matchup is like a pitcher and the other side the batter. This means there is a very negative correlation between teams in the same match. Players score by accumulating kills, which costs the other side points in deaths. Just like earned runs bring down your pitcher’s score.
  3. Along with this another mistake I see beginners making is trusting average scoring. Players' scoring potential is only realized in games that are won. If player X averages 50 DKP, that likely comes from scoring 70 in a 2-0 win and 30 in an 0-2 defeat. What this means is that someone who looks like a value at $4800 suddenly might not end up being such a great point-per-dollar play.
  4. Finally, you're going to want to do your best you fill your captain slot with an ADC or MID. Depending on which teams and players you decide to stack that might not be feasible. The order of preference for your captain slot is generally ADC, MID, JNG, TOP, SUP. Some players in some positions may stand out above the others so consider stats like kill share before you make your final decision.

Game 1: DIG vs. IMT (-210)

If you told me before the season that IMT would be a -210 favorite in any game this season, I probably would've called you a liar. With that being said, it is totally deserved in this matchup. Their new lineup has looked very good in their brief stint in the LCS. Insanity specifically has really impressed in his short time. I think that the ownership will probably be split on this one but I am going to side with IMT.

They have positive momentum going into this one and I think the young guns can pull this one out. DIG on the other hand has trended down recently. They don't really have a direction that their team is going.  They roster swapped veterans with worse veterans, so they can't give young players experience besides Johnsun, and the veterans they subbed in played even worse than the people they subbed in for.

Fenix was ulting into five people and Dardoch didn't look any better than he did on TSM last split when he was the weakest link on that team. If DIG has any chance of winning it has to be from a big performance from Johnsun.

Top IMT plays: Insanity, Allorim,  Apollo, Xmithie,

Top DIG plays: Johnsun, Lourlo

Game 2: 100T vs. FLY (-275)

The second game of the night has 100T going up against FLY. Even though their odds are only slightly higher I think FLY takes this one handily. They have played pretty well this split and should put away the volatile 100T quickly.

Santorin has been on a tear recently with scores of 44.6 and 38.1 DKP in his last two matchups. I like him to keep that momentum up here against Contractz and 100T. PowerOfEvil could also be in for another big performance against Ryoma, who is towards the bottom in the league's mid lane rankings.

Top FLY plays:

  • Santorin, PowerOfEvil, MasH, Solo, IgNar, FLY team

Summary

  1. My favorite captain on this slate is Insanity as I like what he gives you to spend in the rest of your lineup.
  2. I think on a slate-like we have here I'd almost build a lineup where I put in all the IMT that I like and then fill in the gaps with FLY.
  3. For the FD guys, since you need players from three teams, I like Ssumday and Lourlo as one-offs. Ssumday specifically as he doesn't ruin your stacks being in the top lane and could put up a decent score even in a loss.

On that note, if anyone has any questions or needs some suggestions, feel free to @ me in the RotoBaller Premium slack chat.
