LCS DFS Picks for 6/28/20 - League of Legends Daily Fantasy for FanDuel & DraftKings

Aaron Radziucz's League of Leagues (LoL) analysis and LCS DFS lineup picks for FanDuel, DraftKings on 6/28/20. He discusses the LC LoL slate and his top targets for cash games and GPPs.

Welcome back to RotoBaller's coverage of LCS for the Summer split on FanDuel and DraftKings.

It was a pretty interesting slate yesterday with some really close games. Immortals got off the floor with a win and their whole new lineup. TL barely held off Dignitas in a close win, while CLG continued their resurgence this split with a convincing win over 100T. We have another four-gamer for us to dig into today so let's get into it.

Today I'll be bringing you my League of Legends advice, analysis, and picks, for the four-game LCS slate on FanDuel and DraftKings that locks on Saturday, June 27th, at 4:00 PM. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @Governor98. Thanks for reading, now let's get to the strategy and picks!

League of Legends DFS Basics

Since LCS contests are being offered on both FanDuel and DraftKings, it's important to note some pricing discrepancies from site to site, but the roster slots, scoring, and roster construction rules are almost entirely identical with the only exception being that FanDuel forces you to roster at least one player (or team slot) from a third team, while you can play only two teams among your seven roster slots on DraftKings.

  1. Stacking in LoL DFS lineups is very important. 4-3 stacks are the order of the day (on DraftKings) with 3-3-1 becoming more popular (and necessary on FanDuel) as people try to differentiate their lineups in these suddenly large-field GPPs.
  2. In LoL DFS, it is very important to focus on players from winning teams. Think in terms of baseball, one side of the matchup is like a pitcher and the other side the batter. This means there is a very negative correlation between teams in the same match. Players score by accumulating kills, which costs the other side points in deaths. Just like earned runs bring down your pitcher’s score.
  3. Along with this another mistake I see beginners making is trusting average scoring. Players' scoring potential is only realized in games that are won. If player X averages 50 DKP, that likely comes from scoring 70 in a 2-0 win and 30 in an 0-2 defeat. What this means is that someone who looks like a value at $4800 suddenly might not end up being such a great point-per-dollar play.
  4. Finally, you're going to want to do your best you fill your captain slot with an ADC or MID. Depending on which teams and players you decide to stack that might not be feasible. The order of preference for your captain slot is generally ADC, MID, JNG, TOP, SUP. Some players in some positions may stand out above the others so consider stats like kill share before you make your final decision.

Game 1: 100 Thieves vs. TSM (-200)

Yesterday saw 100T take a loss to CLG and TSM take a win from EG. TSM has been up and down to start the season and even though 100T has had a decently hard schedule, they have looked awful despite their surprise finish in the regular season last split. Until 100T shows me something different I'll be off them for the time being. I think TSM takes this one.

We have gotten burned by them a couple of times already this season but yesterday their draft was solid and they looked like they're building chemistry that hasn't been there in the first two weeks. I think that all the players are viable but specifically Bjergsen and Spica. Ryoma and Meteos have really struggled at the mid and jungle spot for 100T and in the current meta right now that is a recipe for disaster.

Top TSM plays:

  • Bjergsen, Spica, Doublelift, Biofrost, BrokenBlade, TSM team

Game 2: Immortals vs. C9 (-2500)

No that is not a typo, as of 8:00 PM Saturday night, Bovada has C9 as a -2500 favorite against IMT. IMT, who completely changed their lineup from weeks two to three are coming off of their first win this season against GGS. Unfortunately, they get the pleasure of facing C9 here who despite struggling in the early part of some games, have put up some decent numbers. Depending on how my builds are looking, this might be a fade for me.

Obviously C9 is very viable and I recommend you play them in your lineups but they're pretty expensive and I'd rather not compromise the rest of build to get in 3 C9 players (I'm not sure four is going to be possible unless you play a dog or C9 team as your fourth in the stack). The hope here is C9 don't fool around and choke out IMT in 30 minutes or less so I really like the C9 team as a one-off on FD.

Top C9 plays:

  • Blaber, Nisqy, Vulcan, Zven, Licorice, C9 Team

Game 3: FLY (-280) vs. GGS

GGS is coming off a bad loss to IMT and FLY won against CLG on Friday night. I think FLY takes this one and you can plug in the usual suspects.  PowerOfEvil and Mash have both been especially impressive this split.

GGS has been kind of underwhelming and although it wouldn't totally shock me if GGS won I think that the odds are a little deceiving here. I think FLY should be in the -325 range. This might be because the odds haven't updated much since the GGS loss to IMT but in theory FLY should have no problems here

Top FLY plays:

  • PowerOfEvil, Mash, Santorin, Solo, IgNar, FLY team

Game 4: DIG vs. EG (-500)

Both of these teams are coming off losses in their last contest and DIG has yet to grab a win this season. Unfortunately, I don't see them getting it here. I have been hearing rumors of a DIG roster overhaul of the top side of the map for next week's games but I am not sure how true that is. EG should be able to get right back on track here in a strong performance.

I like Jizuke and Bang specifically, they take the carry roles for EG and get the vast majority of the kills in the games that EG wins. This is a nice spot of a late-night hammer and could be a great end to the weekend.

Top EG plays:

  • Jizuke, Bang, Svenskeren, Zeyzal, EG teams, Kumo

Summary:

Sunday's slate is going to be interesting as pricing seems pretty tight and it may be hard to get a good correlation in your lineups.  Here are some of my key takeaways:

  1. Favorite stacks (in order): EG, TSM, C9 if you can fit them, FLY
  2. I really like the late-night hammer aspect of EG and I think they have monster upside but might have the biggest chance of losing out of the favorites.
  3. Players are listed in the order that I prefer playing them.

On that note, if anyone has any questions or needs some suggestions, feel free to @ me in the Slack.
