Keelan Cole (WR, JAX) - Week 6 Waiver Wire Pickups

Jaguars wide receiver (WR) Keelan Cole is a waiver wire pickup and add target for Week 6 of the 2018 NFL season. Brady Grove suggests Cole due to his high-frequency of targets on big-gain plays out of the Jacksonville receiving core.

ANALYSIS: After a particularly emergent year in it's own right of 2017, Keelan Cole has seemingly picked up right where he left off out of the Jacksonville receiving core. While he has had to contend with competition from fellow Jaguars Dede Westbrook and Donte Moncrief, Cole has still managed to hold his own in cumulative production this far into the season. He currently ranks second on the team in the categories of targets (34) and receiving yards (295), while he ranks third in total receptions (21). Not to mention that he has once again demonstrated his ability to do significant damage on individual plays, as he currently ranks second on the team among players with more than ten targets with 14 yards-per-reception.

While most of his use within the Jacksonville passing-game comes inside Jaguar territory, Cole has still seen plenty of action in enemy territory. He has caught six passes out of eleven targets for 114 yards between the opponent's 49-20 yard lines, and he has been targeted three times in the red-zone with two conversions for 15 yards. Despite this, Cole has still only managed to bring the ball home to the end-zone once so far in 2018. Blake Bortles has so-far ranked tenth in the NFL in passing yards-per-game with 305, and thus has had plenty of love to spread around the field to the offensive weapons that the Jaguars possess. With Cole's opportunities that have come close to the end-zone and his big-play capability, it seems unlikely that he will go much longer without a scoring play. While occupying such a prominent role in the Jacksonville passing-game, the 25-year-old product of Kentucky Wesleyan should play out as a nice roster addition in 12-man leagues.
