Jordan Mason, Xavier Worthy, Demarcus Robinson: Start ‘Em, Sit ‘Em Picks for Fantasy Football Week 2

Xavier Worthy - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Should I start Jordan Mason, Xavier Worthy, or Demarcus Robinson for Week 2? Fantasy football start em, sit em picks and recommendations for the 2024 NFL season.

The bulk of the Week 2 fantasy football slate is set to begin, so it's time to zero in on your optimal starting lineups. Ahead of Week 2 action, Jordan Mason, Xavier Worthy, and Demarcus Robinson are hot names in fantasy -- and for good reason.

Mason is stepping into a potential workhorse role in San Fran, Worthy is looking to build off his two-touchdown NFL debut, and Robinson could become the No. 2 option in the Rams' passing attack. All three players have upside in the second week of the regular season.

Should you start Mason, Worthy, or Robinson in Week 2? Let's dive in.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Should I Start Jordan Mason for Fantasy Football?

Mason will draw another start when the team clashes with the Minnesota Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday. Mason catapulted himself into the forefront of fantasy football conversations by shredding the New York Jets' run defense last week as the replacement for All-Pro starter Christian McCaffrey (Achilles).

Mason finished that game with 147 yards on 28 carries and a touchdown while chipping in one reception for five yards. Those looking for an encore to Mason's career day are faced with a Minnesota defense that held New York Giants running backs to 42 yards rushing, 29 yards receiving, and no touchdowns in Week 1.

The Vikings were also quite good against the run in 2023 as well, allowing the eighth-fewest points to running backs in half-PPR. Mason is not CMC, but a Top-10 finish is in play this week even against a quality defense given the 49ers' perennial commitment to the run game and how sharp it looked last week. Treat Mason as a back-end RB1 in Week 2.

He is the RB9 in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.

Should I Start Xavier Worthy for Fantasy Football?

Worthy will face the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2. The Chiefs first-round rookie had a massive game in Week 1, scoring two touchdowns, but that production came on just three touches.

Worthy will have an easier opponent this week since he faced the Baltimore Ravens' stingy defense in his NFL debut. The Bengals allowed the sixth-most receiving yards in 2023, so the rookie wideout should find success in this contest. News also broke that the Chiefs placed fellow wide receiver Marquise Brown on injured reserve, so Worthy should quickly fill the WR2 role in Kansas City for the foreseeable future.

The Chiefs will likely incorporate Worthy into the offensive game plan more as the season progresses, so the sky is the limit for the young speedster. Worthy is a worthy flex play with upside this week against the Cincinnati Bengals.

He is the WR29 in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.

Should I Start Demarcus Robinson for Fantasy Football?

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Demarcus Robinson could be in line for more usage in Week 2 at Arizona after Puka Nacua (knee) has landed on the IR. Robinson has good size and is a good possession receiver. Matthew Stafford could look to the big target in the red zone against the Cardinals if Arizona shifts its focus to Cooper Kupp in those situations.

Tyler Johnson will be Robinson's main threat for targets at the wide receiver position opposite Kupp with Nacua out. Robinson may lack the ability to break a big play like Johnson did against the Lions in Week 1 on his long catch and run in the second half. Robinson, however, may be the better bet to score a touchdown. It remains to be seen how the dynamic will play out between the two popular waiver-wire additions but both make for decent speculative plays in deep leagues.

He is the WR45 in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.
