Indianapolis Colts tight end (TE) Jack Doyle is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup to target as a free agent addition for Week 9 of the 2019 NFL season.

ANALYSIS: The Colts tight-end-by-committee approach isn’t pretty for fantasy owners with shares of either Jack Doyle or Eric Ebron, but the former is getting more and more of the cake from Ebron weekly. Just on pure usage, Doyle is playing 72 percent of the offensive snaps while Ebron is seeing just 41 percent of them, and Doyle has out-targeted Ebron so far this season.
In the last couple of weeks, facing tough matchups against Houston and Denver, Doyle has been targeted 10 times to Ebron’s nine. Doyle was able to catch seven of those 10 passes for a combined 81 yards and comes from the best game of the season in which he didn’t score a touchdown. While Ebron’s got a higher ceiling, Doyle offers a solid balance of production. The difference between both tight ends isn’t that big in fantasy terms (Doyle is averaging 6.9 fantasy points to Ebron’s 8.2), and none of them is getting a lot of red zone targets.
With Brissett firing touchdowns as if they were one-yard tosses, Doyle has a high weekly upside and could catch one of those any day now. If you are streaming the position you can do much worse than rostering Doyle. He offers a good floor even in a timeshare with Ebron and plays in a team that scores at an incredible pace. On top of that Indianapolis is facing the Steelers in Week 9. Pittsburgh is the fifth-worst team at stopping TEs, so I’d advise you to pick and play Doyle this next weekend.
