Tennessee Titans wide receiver Treylon Burks was the 18th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Burks had a productive college career, totaling 146 receptions for 2,399 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns in three years at Arkansas.
The former Razorback star had a rocky rookie season. Burks had 33 receptions on 54 targets for 444 receiving yards and one touchdown. The rookie got drafted to replace A.J. Brown, who the Titans traded away for the draft pick they used on the former Arkansas star. Unfortunately, he didn’t live up to expectations.
Burks was a popular sophomore-year breakout candidate before the team added DeAndre Hopkins. The arrival of the veteran has limited the young receiver’s upside. The former Arkansas star has only eight receptions on 18 targets for 122 receiving yards in five games this season.

Is Treylon Burks Injured Or Playing In Week 10?
Unfortunately, the former Razorback star has struggled with multiple injuries this year. Last week, Burks suffered a scary injury in the loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Thankfully, he only has a concussion. However, the second-year wide receiver won’t play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week.
Should I Start Kyle Philips?
While Hopkins will be the featured weapon in the passing game for Will Levis, the rookie quarterback showed a strong connection with Philips in Week 9. The second-year wide receiver had four receptions on five targets for 68 receiving yards, leading the team in receptions and receiving yards.
Philips’ NFL career has been limited because of injuries. However, he set career highs in every category against the Steelers. More importantly, the former UCLA star was productive despite running only 19 routes in the loss. Furthermore, he was second to Hopkins in target per route run rate, seeing a target on 24% of his routes compared to 32% for the veteran.
Meanwhile, the Buccaneers struggled to slow down Noah Brown last week. The veteran wide receiver ran 71% of his 71% of his routes from the slot and scored 24.3 half-point PPR fantasy points against Tampa Bay. Meanwhile, Philips has run 71.2% of his routes this year from the slot.
The second-year receiver won’t have 24 fantasy points. Yet, Philips should score double-digits. Fantasy players in deeper league should consider starting the former UCLA star against the Buccaneers.
