Is Michael Pittman Jr. Hurt or Healthy? Fantasy Football Injury Update for Week 6

Michael Pittman Jr -Fantasy-Football-Rankings-Draft-Sleepers-Waiver-Wire-Pickups-icon-rotoballer

Is Michael Pittman Jr. hurt or healthy? Is Michael Pittman Jr. playing in Week 6? Read the latest Michael Pittman Jr. fantasy football injury updates and outlook.

When fantasy managers drafted Michael Pittman Jr. (back) around his ADP of 36 overall, they expected a solid every-week starter with a great floor and higher ceiling than 2023, when he caught 109 passes for 1,152 yards and four touchdowns, largely with backup QB Gardner Minshew II throwing to him.

Pittman had a stretch of fantastic reliability, scoring double-digit PPR fantasy points in 14 of his first 15 games and exceeding 15 points in nine of those contests. He was the clear No. 1 option in the Colts' passing game, and that was expected to carry into 2024. That didn't happen. He's cracked 10+ points just twice this season.

His last two games were improved, with 17.30 and 14.70 points. But that's the good news, and the bad news is there are reports that he may miss playing time soon. So is Michael Pittman Jr. hurt or healthy, and when will he return to play?

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Michael Pittman Jr. Injury Update for Fantasy Football

It doesn't get any better for his fantasy managers. Number 11 is dealing with a back injury and the team has indicated that injured reserve is a possibility, per NFL Insider Adam Schefter. The injury is reportedly a nagging issue, and it's possible he was playing through it to his detriment.

There isn't specific information on the type of issue he has or when he acquired it. Without more information, there's not much to speculate on, and fantasy managers will have to trust the current information and find a backup plan if they have Pittman on any of their fantasy rosters.

Michael Pittman Jr. Fantasy Football Outlook for Week 6

There likely is no outlook. Considering that IR is being considered for him by the team, he has very little chance of playing when the Colts face the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. It would be incredibly unusual for the team to announce something that suggests he will miss multiple games, then reverse course and have him suit up.

Fantasy managers should check for updates periodically, but with the next update possibly being his placement on IR, they shouldn't expect good news. They'll just have to wait and hope he returns to form, and the offense can figure out a way to help him have more big games.
