New York Giants rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers is off to a fine start in 2024, catching five passes for 66 yards in his debut against the Minnesota Vikings. It was a bad day overall for the Giants as they got blown out, so Nabers could have a better game in Week 2 against the Washington Commanders' inferior defense.
Nabers was curiously out-targeted by fellow WR Wan'Dale Robinson, but if Giants HC Brian Daboll and QB Daniel Jones want to keep their jobs, they'll need to make Nabers the No. 1 target every game. Nabers is a generational talent of a draft pick and needs to be the focal point of this offense.
But will Nabers be able to play in Week 2? Is he hurt or healthy? What's the latest injury news for Nabers? Let's dive in.

Malik Nabers Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Nabers popped up on the Giants injury report on Thursday with a knee issue, and there were rumors coming out of practice that he was "not himself" in the locker room (whatever that means). However, he had no ice, wrap or brace on his knee, and Giants writers are reporting that he's probably okay.
Made some inquiries on Malik Nabers:
Doesn’t appear to be anything serious. His leg tightened during practice. Seems to be OK. See how it feels tomorrow. #giants #nfl https://t.co/GfOE9QHCEV

If his knee is simply dealing with some tightness, it's probably not a big cause for concern. We'll need to stay updated on his status, though. It's tough to draw conclusions with so little information at this point, and it's worthwhile to monitor his status as the week progresses.
Whether he logs limited or full practices or misses practice entirely will be important. If Nabers misses practice, that could be a red flag that the injury is more serious than originally reported, but if he practices in a limited capacity or fully, the outlook becomes more optimistic for Week 2.
UPDATE: Per coach Brian Daboll, Nabers is good to go and will play in the Giants Week 2 game.
WR Malik Mabers is “good,” per Brian Daboll. “No concern.”
Nabers will be ready to play Sunday vs. Commanders despite popping up on the injury report yesterday with a knee injury. #giants #commanders

Malik Nabers Fantasy Football Outlook
The Giants invested a high pick in Nabers, and he should become the focal point of their offense quickly. He should flirt with double-digit targets on a regular basis, making him a fantastic start in PPR leagues. His blend of speed, quickness, physicality, and burst make him capable of producing highlight reel plays every week.
This was Malik Nabers’ 4th catch of the game, which was for 25 yards.
Nabers has 4 catches for 59 yards so far in his debut for the Giants.

The ability to climb the ladder is just one of his outstanding traits, and he can be trusted with jump balls on a regular basis. He's also a premier YAC expert. Expect Nabers to be more involved than he was in Week 1. Seven targets is fine, but he's earned more. Start him in all PPR leagues in Week 2.
