Is Jaylen Waddle Injured or Healthy? Fantasy Football Injury Update

Jaylen Waddle - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL DFS Picks

Is Jaylen Waddle injured or healthy? Is Jaylen Waddle playing in 8? Read the latest Jaylen Waddle fantasy football injury updates and outlook.

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle suffered a back injury during the Week 7 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Although he was able to return later, the Dolphins suffered a 17-31 loss.

Waddle finished the game with six receptions for 63 yards on six targets while averaging 10.5 yards per reception. The Eagles' defense did considerably well to contain the duo of Waddle and Tyreek, but despite that, the two speedy receivers had a considerably decent game.

However, fantasy football managers are still concerned about Waddle's back injury. How serious is it? Will he play next week? Let's take a look at the 24-year-old player's injury update.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Jaylen Waddle Injury Update for Fantasy Football

As per the latest reports, Jaylen Waddle's back injury is not considered serious. He is expected to practice throughout the week and will be ready to play in Week 8.

After a tough loss to the Eagles, the Dolphins' next game is against the New England Patriots. Although it is a home game for them, it could turn out to be a tricky one. The Patriots came away with a big upset win over the Buffalo Bills in Week 7 and could make life tough for Tua Tagovailoa.

As for Waddle, he has played five games against the Patriots in his career. In those five games, he has recorded 20 receptions for 295 yards and scored three touchdowns, while averaging 59 receiving yards on 5.6 targets per game.

Jaylen Waddle Fantasy Football Outlook

In the six games that he has played this season, Jaylen Waddle has recorded 30 receptions for 359 yards and two touchdowns. This season, he is just averaging 59.8 receiving yards per game, which is quite low compared to his last season's average of 79.8. The RotoBaller staff has him ranked #9 among WRs heading into Week 8.

With Tyreek Hill on pace to record over 2000 receiving yards, Waddle has taken a little backseat this season. It might be because of the injuries, as he has already missed a game this season due to being in concussion protocol.

His usage is likely to increase going forward if he stays healthy. The Dolphins will face the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 9, and due to that, the Week 8 game against the Patriots is a must-win game for them if they want to win the AFC East. We can expect both Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle to be at their best since the Patriots are dealing with injuries to multiple key defensive players.
