Is Davante Adams Still a First-Round Pick in 2024 Fantasy Football?

Davante Adams - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks - icon rotoballer

Is Davante Adams still a first-round pick in 2024 fantasy football? Joey takes a look at if Davante Adams is a first-round pick in 2024 fantasy football drafts.

Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams has been one of the most consistent fantasy options over the past few years. Since 2018, Adams has finished as a fantasy WR1 in five of the past six seasons. Last year, the veteran finished as the WR10 in PPR formats.

Adams wasn't as strong of a fantasy option last year, in large part due to the team's shaky quarterback play. Still, he averaged 15.6 PPR fantasy points per game while scoring over 35 PPR fantasy points on two occasions (Week 3 and Week 17).

So, is Adams still a first-round pick in 2024 fantasy football drafts? Let's dive in and find out.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Davante Adams 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook

One of the biggest downfalls for Adams last season was the Raiders' poor quarterback play. Both Jimmy Garoppolo and Aidan O'Connell failed to get the veteran wideout the ball often. He had a target accuracy of 6.7, which ranked 52nd in the league. However, his quarterback situation didn't improve a whole lot for the 2024 season.

The team essentially replaced Garoppolo with Gardner Minshew II. Minshew showed some nice things with the Indianapolis Colts last year, but his air yards per attempt (7.3) and true completion percentage (69%) ranked outside the top 20 among all quarterbacks last season.

As a result, Adams could struggle with consistency in fantasy again in 2024. He ranked third in air yards (1,896 yards) and first in air yards share (44.2%) last year. The Raiders wideout will likely have a high fantasy floor again this season -- given his potential high target share -- but that high fantasy ceiling might not be there anymore for the veteran.

Is Davante Adams Still a First-Round Pick in 2024 Fantasy Football?

Adams has been a first-round pick in fantasy for the past couple of seasons, including last year with an ADP of 11. However, the 10-year veteran should not be picked that high in 2024 fantasy football drafts. His quarterback situation remains murky, which affects his fantasy value this upcoming season. Given his high floor and talent, though, he is a much better selection in the second round of drafts.
