New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave (concussion) remains on injured reserve after the big concussion he suffered in Week 9 against the Carolina Panthers. It's kept him sidelined since then, and he must miss a minimum of four games total.
This means he won't be eligible to return to the field until Week 14. Considering that it was his second traumatic brain injury of the year, though, many have questioned whether he will return to play at all.
So, is he out for the season, or will he take the field again in 2024? Here is the latest update on the Saints' wide receiver's status.

Is Chris Olave Out For The Season?
Olave still hasn't been ruled out for the season. He should be eligible to return from IR after his four-game stint on the sidelines, and most players can clear concussion protocol after four weeks. He'll have had five total weeks of rest, so it's reasonable to expect him back after that absence.

Signs have been positive that he'll be able to make a return. Generally, even second concussions don't lead to absences longer than four weeks, so there's not much reason to think Olave will be an exception. The IR designation has allowed him more time to recover, hopefully normalizing his susceptibility to future concussions.
Of course, he must be cleared by an independent neurologist before returning to play. Only time will tell if that will happen, though. It's possible he could continue to experience symptoms past Week 14, though it may be unlikely. Fantasy managers should search for updates on the situation after this week's games when we'll get more meaningful information.
When he does return, he shouldn't see any knocks to his production. He should be fully free of symptoms and ready to roll as a WR3/FLEX with WR2 upside for the fantasy playoffs.
