Is Chase Claypool Playing In Week 15? Should I Pickup And Start Equanimeous St. Brown Or Byron Pringle For Fantasy Football?

Should I start Equanimeous St. Brown or Byron Pringle for fantasy football Week 15? Is Equanimeous St. Brown or Byron Pringle a good fantasy pickup off the waiver wire? Read the waiver wire outlook.

Chicago Bears wide receiver Chase Claypool has had an up-and-down 2022 season. The third-year receiver started the year slowly, averaging only 5.1 half-point PPR fantasy points per game over the first five contests.

However, the former Notre Dame star picked up his play. Over the next three matchups, he averaged seven targets and 12.4 fantasy points per game, scoring 10.5 or more fantasy points twice.

After weeks of trade speculation, the Pittsburgh Steelers traded Claypool to the Bears. Unfortunately, the veteran has struggled since joining the team, averaging only 3.1 fantasy points per game.

Is Chase Claypool Playing In Week 15?

Despite having their bye last week, the Bears ruled Claypool out for Sunday’s matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.

With the former Steeler unable to play with a knee injury, Chicago will rely on the veterans Equanimeous St. Brown and Byron Pringle, along with the younger receivers like the rookie Velus Jones Jr.

However, should fantasy players pick up and start one of the veterans?

Should I Pickup And Start Equanimeous St. Brown Or Byron Pringle?

The answer to this question is no. Philadelphia has held wide receivers to only 24.9 fantasy points per game this season, the eighth-fewest in the NFL.

Fantasy players should have been hesitant to start Claypool this week. Therefore, they shouldn't pick up St. Brown or Pringle.

Instead, fantasy players should add Alec Pierce off the waiver wire. The rookie receiver is available in over 88% of ESPN leagues.

The Indianapolis Colts receiver has flashed star potential this year. More importantly, he has earned Matt Ryan’s trust to make plays downfield. Pierce made a couple of impressive catches in his last game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Furthermore, Piece has seen eight targets in two of the past three contests, including two weeks ago against Dallas. In those two contests, the rookie has averaged 3.5 receptions, 57 receiving yards, and 10.5 fantasy points per game.

In Week 15, Pierce faces the Minnesota Vikings. While they sit atop the NFC North division, their defense has been awful this year. They have surrendered 34.1 fantasy points per game to wide receivers, the second-most in the NFL. Last week, they gave up over 270 receiving yards, three touchdowns, and 55.9 fantasy points to the Detroit Lions wide receivers.
