Should I Draft Chase Brown or Zack Moss for Fantasy Football? Who Is The Bengals RB1 for 2024?

Chase Brown - Fantasy Football Rankings, Waiver Wire Pickups, Draft Sleepers

Should I draft Chase Brown or Zack Moss for fantasy football drafts? Who will be the RB1 for the Bengals in 2024? Joey tells you which running back to draft.

The Cincinnati Bengals backfield will look a little different in 2024. After spending his first seven years with the Bengals, Joe Mixon was traded to the Houston Texans this offseason. To replace him, Cincinnati went out and signed Zack Moss in free agency.

That leaves Moss and 2023 fifth-round pick Chase Brown as the top two backs in this offense heading into the 2024 season. The former looked solid in that starting role last year with the Colts, while Brown showed a ton of great things in the second half.

So, is Brown or Moss the fantasy football RB1 for the Bengals? Let's dive in and find out.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Who is the Cincinnati Bengals' RB1?

The expectation entering training camp was that Moss was going to be the Bengals' RB1 in 2024. He has the experience over Brown, and the 26-year-old totaled 89 carries for 445 yards and three touchdowns in four starts without Jonathan Taylor last season.

However, Moss doesn't appear to be the team's RB1 right now. That's because Brown has seen most of the starting running back reps with the first-team offense through the first few days of training camp. As a result, signs point to the 24-year-old winning that starting job.

Brown has looked impressive in the early part of camp, and Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said last week that "he's earned that" in terms of a larger role. We are still five weeks away from Week 1, and things change often in the NFL, but it seems like the young running back has the current edge to win the RB1 job.

Who Should I Draft in Fantasy Football?

Right now, Moss is going a couple of rounds before Brown in fantasy. However, expect that to change as the season gets closer. With the way the Bengals are utilizing Brown so far in training camp, he figures to be the better fantasy pick in drafts this year.

Whoever winds up winning this RB1 job should have the slightly better fantasy value in 2024. So, fantasy managers should be looking to target Brown at his 123.7 ADP.
