ANALYSIS: The New York Yankees called up Giovanny Urshela from Triple-A back in April and he hasn't looked back. In a season marked by injuries in New York, Urshela has become a daily starter for the Yankees slotting in the third part of the lineup regularly. Now, with Luke Voit also down, is the time to bet on Urshela getting even more important in New York's batting group.
This season has marked quite an explosion in Urshela's career. He's currently posting a 126 wRC+ (11th-best 3B with at least 300 PA) and hitting a remarkable .311 (5th-best in the same group). Although he's not walking a lot (5.6 BB%), his strikeout rate sits at a low 15.7%.
His ownership rate is surprisingly low for such production. Even more, when it comes accompanied by great peripherals. For the time being and until every Yankee on the IL gets healthy, he's a lock in the lineup.
