Thunder Dan's top NBA betting picks and best bets for today's NBA games on 3/27/23. His free picks against the spread, teasers, parlays, and NBA player props.

We might be only a few days away from baseball season but I am far from finished betting on the NBA! This last week and a half are going to be a bit tricky with teams rolling out some truly goofy lineups on a nightly basis, but we simply have to be a bit more discerning when picking our spots, that's all. With eight games on the docket tonight, I am going to give it a shot!

Saturday our underdogs went 2-2 and I'm going to keep my underdog theme going here today, too, with my picks on this slate. I'm only picking sides and totals in this article three days a week, so consider subscribing to my sports betting substack here as I put out some DFS stuff and props on most evenings from Monday through Friday, too.

In this article, I'll be providing my favorite picks against the spread, game totals, parlays, and teasers for NBA games that tip-off at 7:00 PM EST on Monday, March 27th.

NBA Betting Picks: Against the Spread

Minnesota Timberwolves (+4) @ Sacramento Kings (239 total)

So last night Anthony Edwards returned from his week-long absence, Karl-Anthony Towns played his second straight game since missing the majority of the year, and the Wolves upset the defending champion Warriors on the road in a hard-fought 99-96 win.

The crazy thing is that KAT and Ant didn't even have great games, the Minnesota win had a lot to do with the continued strong play of Mike Conley, Kyle Anderson, and Naz Reid - the last two coming off the bench. Could this Minnesota team be ready to round into form and contend this postseason after having a relatively disappointing showing for most of the regular season?

Maybe, but the verdict is still out on that one. If they have all their guys tonight on a back-to-back, however, I am ready to bet they can beat the Kings or at least keep this one close. As much as I like Sacto, a fully-healthy Minnesota team is dangerous, and let's not forget that the Kings are listing De'Aaron Fox as questionable, too. A lot could change by the time this game tips, but if both teams are at full strength I give the Wolves a fighting chance at pulling another upset here as I think the Kings will have a hard time matching up with the size of Gobert and KAT together and their interior defense (Sacramento's, that is) has been largely suspect all season.

With spreads this close I almost always put .25 or .50 of a unit down on the money line, too. I'm in on the Wolves tonight.

The Pick: Wolves +4 (-110)

 

Chicago Bulls (+4) @ LA Clippers (221 total)

These two teams come into this game trending in opposite directions. And while I don't want to overvalue the recent sample size, I don't think we can ignore it either.

Chicago has won seven of their last nine games coming into this one, including an impressive 10-point win over the Lakers yesterday who even had LeBron back in the lineup. They're pretty safely into the 10 seed right now, meaning they will at least have a chance to win their way into the playoffs in the play-in series and they are definitely a dangerous team that I wouldn't want to face right now.

The offense has not been the issue this year in Chicago, they can score points on any given night with ease. It's been the defense that made them very beatable in the first half of the year and that has been the biggest area of improvement for the Bulls down the stretch. Adding Pat Beverley to the mix was huge and getting everyone to buy in on the defensive end and change their style of play as a team has led to more success for this Chicago team.

The Clippers, meanwhile, are coming off a bad home loss to the Pelicans and continue to look like a team that is going to struggle without Paul George and Norman Powell in the lineup. They simply don't have anyone besides Kawhi Leonard they can really rely on other than Russell Westbrook. Zubac and Plumlee are both defensive liabilities in the paint and they are relying on veterans like Nicolas Batum and Eric Gordon too much.

I like the Bulls to keep it rolling here and maybe even pick up a win. I will be putting some money down on their money line in addition to the spread for sure. Let's go Bulls.
