MLB Pitcher Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks
Sean Manaea OVER 5.5 strikeouts (-140 DraftKings Sportsbook)
This opened with a lot better odds but has drastically moved in favor of Manaea going over this total, and rightfully so. Manaea has a great matchup as the Marlins are posting the third-highest K rate against left-handers over the previous two weeks with a rat of 31.5%. Manaea has also hit six strikeouts in two of his previous three starts.
Edward Cabrera OVER 4.5 strikeouts (-105 DraftKings Sportsbook)
We are going to stay in the same game for this one with Marlins starter, Edward Cabrera. Cabrera returned from the IL in his last start where he threw 91 pitches, so pitch count should not be an issue in this one. He has struck out at least five in three of his five starts this season as well. Although the Padres have been relatively solid in terms of K rate vs. righties, four of the last seven right-handed starters they have faced have hit this total.
Zach Plesac OVER 5.5 strikeouts (+105 DraftKings Sportsbook)
We cannot ignore plus odds on a prop against the Detroit Tigers. The Tigers have posted the highest K rate against right-handers over the previous two weeks with a rate of 32.7% while also posting an abysmal 4.6$ walk rate and 60 wRC+ mark over that same span. Aaron Civale just mowed these Tigers down a total of 10 times across six innings pitched just yesterday. Plesac has managed to hit six strikeouts in two of his previous three starts, including a seven strikeout performance against these Tigers in his most recent start on August 11th.

We have to take advantage of a plus odds Paul Goldschmidt prop any time that he is facing a left-handed starter.
