Free MLB Player Props - Today's Prop Betting Picks for Hitters and Pitchers (6/8/23)

Seiya Suzuki - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

Today's free MLB prop betting picks for Thursday, June 8, 2023. Use Casey Wilson's top baseball prop picks and MLB prop bet recommendations to win money on sportsbooks.

Last week we were perfect with our player props having a clean four-for-four sweep. Yesterday we hit two for three making us six for our last seven. Let's see if we can keep the balling rolling over at RotoBaller. On a short slate, I have two pitcher props for you today and my hit parlay that we are still perfect on in this article.

Attention, fellow sports bettors! We have exciting news to share as we are officially partnered with various sportsbooks and have some sweet sports betting promo offers! Get your deposit bonus and a year of free RotoBaller Premium access when you sign up with a new account today! After you're signed up, use our picks in this article for spreads, totals, and props to win big.

I'll provide my favorite prop bets for MLB games on Thursday, June 8, 2023, in this article. I will continue to hone in on K props first, as they are the most lucrative, and we will follow that with some total base props. Let's look at some of the best MLB player props worth wagering on for today's games without further ado! Follow me on Twitter @CaseyW22 for more free betting and DFS advice.

MLB Pitcher Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks

Zack Wheeler UNDER 8.5 strikeouts (-140 DraftKings Sportsbook)

Let's try this again today. This is a write-up from yesterday's article when the Tigers and Phillies were canceled because of the smoke advisory. Wheeler has a great matchup with the Detroit Tigers today, who have scored three runs in 18 innings in this series. The Tigers hold a 24.5% K against right-hand pitching, good for sixth-best to attack in baseball. They have one player in their lineup below a 20% K. There are strikeouts in this lineup, but again this line is too high.

Wheeler has a 26.9% K and a 13.1% SwStr. He has only struck out nine or more in two of his twelve starts this season. He has been at seven strikeouts or below in nine of his twelve starts, a full strikeout below where this line is set. I understand he's in a great matchup here with the Tigers, but there is no way his line should be set at 8.5 strikeouts.

Clayton Kershaw to record a win (-135 DraftKings Sportsbook)

Kershaw and the Dodgers will face the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ballpark in the final game of their three-game set. The Reds have taken the first two games in walk-off fashion. The Dodgers need a win here to salvage the road trip, and they will send ace Clayton Kershaw to the mound to achieve that. The Dodgers enter play today with a 35-27 record, and the Reds enter play with a 29-33 record.

Kershaw is 7-4 with a 3.25 ERA on the season. He has gone five innings or more in nine out of 12 starts. He has a 3.19 SIERA and a .226 BAA. His opponent Graham Ashcraft is 3-4 with a 6.64 ERA. He has a 4.92 SIERA and a .285 BAA. There is a significant advantage on the mound here today for the Dodgers.

The Dodgers own a 112 wRC+ against right-hand pitching this season. They have a .336 wOBA and a .452 SLG. These are all top five in baseball against the split. The Reds own a 104 wRC+ against lefties. They also have a .337 wOBA and a .426 SLG. The offenses seem pretty even here, although I will always take the star power of the Dodgers. With the separation on the mound and their ace on the hill in a game to avoid a sweep, I love the Dodgers and Kershaw to get a win today.

MLB Hitter Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks

SGP Seiya Suzuki + Yan Gomes to record a hit (+105 DraftKings SportsBook)

Over the last few weeks, I've been hitting on some hits parlays. Honestly, it's been a blast betting and very profitable. So I'm going to write it up here again in today's article. I like giving you guys different looks on how to bet instead of writing up the everyday props like always. You can always take either of the two guys below for their total bases prop to get a better line. This is my third time writing a hit parlay in this article, and we have yet to miss one.

The Cubs will square off today against Reid Detmers. Detmers starts today with a 4.00 SIERA and a .281 BAA. Against right-handed batters this season, he owns a .395 wOBA and 41.7% hard hit. Over the last 30 days, he has held a .443 wOBA and a 46.2% hard hit against the split.

Suzuki has a .384 wOBA and a 50.0% hard hit against left-hand pitchers this season. He is hitting .362 this season against left-hand pitching. Gomes has a .444 wOBA and a 47.5% hard hit. He is hitting .356 against lefties this season. Left-handed pitchers are Suzuki's and Gomes's better splits, and I expect both to get a hit tonight against Detmers and the Angels' bullpen.
