MLB Pitcher Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks
Carlos Carrasco OVER 4.5 strikeouts (+110 DraftKings Sportsbook)
We are getting some solid value here on Carrasco at 4.5. Granted, the Rockies are only posting a K rate of 20.8% vs. right-handed pitchers over the previous two weeks, but this just ranks 11th-best in the league over that span. It is not elite. They are also posting a paltry 76 wRC+ mark over that same span, so Carrasco should be able to get some length here and post a number he has reached in five of eight starts this season.
Nestor Cortes OVER 5.5 strikeouts (-130 DraftKings Sportsbook)
Cortes will be facing the White Sox tonight who are posting a K rate of 25.3% vs left-handers over the previous two weeks, which ranks 10th-worst in baseball. They are also posting just a wRC+ of 89 against lefties over that same span. Meanwhile, Cortes has reached this total in each of his previous two games, totaling 18 strikeouts across 15 1/3 innings pitched, and has also reached this total in four of his previous six starts.
MLB Hitter Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks
Giancarlo Stanton OVER 1.5 total bases (-105 DraftKings Sportsbook)
This is a solid number on Stanton vs. a left-handed pitcher in Dallas Keuchel tonight. Stanton has collected hits in seven of his previous eight games and has five multi-hit games over that same span. Keuchel has allowed two home runs to right-handed hitters this season and has also posted a WHIP of 1.89. The White Sox's pen has also posted the 10th-worst ERA on the season.
Byron Buxton OVER 1.5 total bases (-110 DraftKings Sportsbook)
Buxton has been on an absolute tear in 2022 and he has done some serious damage against left-handed pitching. He has smashed five bombs while posting a 1.237 OPS. He will be facing Daniel Lynch who has allowed four bombs to right-handed hitters in 2022 and will also get a crack at the Royals pen, which has ranked sixth-worst on the season in terms of ERA and fourth-worst in terms of WHIP. Buxton's home run prop is currently set at +245, and while the odds are a tad steep, is probably worth a sprinkle.
