MLB Pitcher Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks

Lance Lynn UNDER 5.5 strikeouts (+116 FanDuel Sportsbook)

Lance Lynn has piled up plenty of punchouts early this season but he will have a tough task on his plate tonight as he takes on the Blue Jays in Toronto.

Lynn has punched out 28 hitters in just 21 1/3 innings on the season but this Blue Jays offense should give him plenty of trouble in a hitter-friendly venue. Lynn has dealt with home run issues as well as he's yielded six long balls in those 21 1/3 frames while he's also walked 9.8% of the batters he's faced.

On the flip side, the Blue Jays rank eighth with a 21.2% strikeout rate this season while that figure shrinks to just 17.6% at home across 222 trips to the plate. They haven't hit for a ton of power yet this season but the Rogers Centre's new hitter-friendly dimensions have me wondering if Lynn can even last long enough to flirt with this total against a dangerous Blue Jays lineup.

Edward Cabrera OVER 5.5 strikeouts (-116 FanDuel Sportsbook)

First and foremost, Edward Cabrera is going to need to reign in the free passes if he wants to get deep enough to punch out at least six Braves hitters in this one. He hasn't exactly done so yet in his big-league career as he owns a 13.8% BB% in his 25 big-league starts but he's also posted a solid 24.5% K% in that time.

For their part, the Braves sit 25th with a 25.3% K% on the young season while their 28.9% mark at home is the worst in the majors. It's not something that was expected but there's been plenty of swing and miss in the Braves' bats so far this season.

Coming off a season-high eight strikeouts against a Giants team that's also struck out a lot this season, Cabrera should be able to rack up a quality amount of punchouts this time around.

Tommy Henry UNDER 4.5 strikeouts (-136 FanDuel Sportsbook)

Tommy Henry is getting the starting nod in place of Madison Bumgarner who was recently designated for assignment. While that's a boon for his career on a personal level, he hasn't exactly cruised his way to a spot in the major league rotation.

Henry enters this one sporting a 5.36 ERA in nine MLB starts alongside a weak 17.6% strikeout rate. He's increased that strikeout rate to a healthy 24.2% mark in four Triple-A starts this season but he has also been rocked for a 6.33 ERA in 21 1/3 Triple-A frames. Henry's 5.88 FIP and 21.7% K% across 21 Triple-A starts from last season don't exactly stand out, either.

The Royals sit with a 26th-ranked 25.6% K& so far this season but should be able to avoid strikeouts against one of the weakest pitchers on this slate.

MLB Hitter Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks

Bobby Witt Jr. to record a run (-155 FanDuel Sportsbook)

We'll go back to targeting Tommy Henry, this time with the sticks as Bobby Witt Jr. should be able to cross home plate in this matchup tonight.

As the Royals' leadoff hitter, Witt has scored 12 runs in 22 games. However, it's his power/speed combination that is likable here as he's homered four times with five stolen bases. He's riding a five-game hitting streak with a homer, a triple, and three runs scored during that time.

Witt's splits also work well here. The righty-swinging infielder owns a big .261 isolated power off lefties this season versus a .190 mark against righties. He also isn't afraid to run against lefties with three of his five steals on the season coming off of southpaws despite seeing 43 fewer plate appearances against them than he has righties.

Witt should be a dynamic player in this matchup tonight.
