Today's MLB Betting Picks - Twins at Orioles
O/U: 8.5 | Moneyline: BAL -175
MIN: Chris Paddack| BAL: Grayson Rodriguez
Game Time: 6:35 p.m. EDT
This is a fun matchup between two solid offenses. However, one starting pitcher has the advantage here and that is Grayson Rodriguez. Chris Paddack has been alright on the season, but he has still posted an ERA north of four and has allowed 12 hits and eight walks in two starts, which has accounted for his 1.85 WHIP.
Meanwhile, Rodriguez has posted a 2.50 ERA through three starts and has struck out 21 batters across 18 innings pitched. He will be backed by a solid offense in this one as well. Over the previous two weeks, Baltimore has posted a 122 wRC+ mark vs. right-handers, which ranks fourth-best in the league. They have also posted just a 21% K rate, which ranks in the top half of the league.
For these reasons, I am going to back the Orioles Moneyline in the first five innings, which currently sits at -166.

Today's MLB Betting Picks - Padres at Brewers
O/U: 8.5 | Moneyline: Padres -125
SD: Dylan Cease| MIL: Wade Miley
Game Time: 7:40 p.m. EDT
Wade Miley will be making his second start of the season in this game after allowing one earned run to the Reds across four innings and 53 pitches in his first start. The matchup here gets significantly tougher as the Padres have posted a wRC+ of 138 vs. southpaws over the previous two weeks, which ranks them second-best in baseball. The Padres have also posted a K rate of just 15.6% (sixth-best) and a walk rate of 20% (best in baseball). These metrics also come across 90 plate appearances, so the sample size is relevant.
While Miley did well in his first start, I do not trust him to perform well in this matchup, especially considering he gave up 14 home runs to right-handers a season ago. The Brewers pen has also posted a 3.77 ERA this season, which while solid, is still something this Padres' offense can take advantage of in Milwaukee. The Padres team total is currently set at 4.5 -110 and is worth taking a look at.
