Frank Gore (RB, MIA) - Week 9 Waiver Wire Pickups

BALLER MOVE: Add in 14-Team Leagues

OWNED IN: 22% of Leagues

ANALYSIS: After an already incredible fourteen seasons in the NFL, longtime veteran Frank Gore is still shouldering the load of the backfield in Miami, where he was once a member of the infamous "U". He got off to a rough start for the 2018 campaign, accumulating just 98 rushing yards and 19 receiving yards off of 24 carries and a single reception from a single target through the first three weeks. However, since then, the Dolphins have been turning to Gore for touches with much greater volume and consistency. From week four through week eight Gore has averaged 57.4 rushing yards off of twelve carries per contest while also improving his presence in the passing game which has been so far dominated by teammate Kenyan Drake to the tune of five receptions out of seven targets for 43 yards and a TD in that time frame.

It is quite ironic that Gore's issue seems to be in finding the end-zone on carries even though he leads the team in carries (84) and total rushing yards (385) while Drake has three TD runs, and Gore's only TD comes on a reception in a passing game where he has been scarcely involved. Don't plan on opposing defenses keeping Gore out of the end-zone for long though. He has currently handled eight carries in the red-zone to this point in the season while five of those came inside the ten-yard line. No matter who has been at QB for Miami, the passing game has been far less effective than the running game. Brock Osweiler has only managed to throw for 223.8 yards per contest, and now that Frank Gore is consistently receiving double-digit carries each week, it's only a matter of time until the package he offers of moderate point totals is sweetened by a trip across the goal line.
