Arsenal FPL Team Preview - Fantasy Premier League Predictions, Tips, Picks for 2023/24

EPL Premier League - FPL Fantasy Premier League Advice

Welcome to the 2023/24 Fantasy Premier League season, RotoBallers! The FPL game launched on July 5 and all the prices are revealed. Today, we will start our team previews with Arsenal and work through every EPL team, looking at what catches our eye and their FPL outlooks.

We began our FPL coverage two years ago and are going big for the upcoming 2023/24 campaign. We will have position previews, team previews, and reactions to the most significant transfers in the preseason. Then, during the year, we will bring you our usual Staff Roundtable, weekly rankings, and a new monthly article: the Watchlist.

The first game of the 2023/24 Fantasy Premier League season is August 11 at 3:00 PM ET. Also, look out for the rest of our excellent soccer coverage as the squad gets you all set for every English Premier League and UEFA Champions League with our EPL DFS lineup picks and betting picks.

FPL Team Previews: Arsenal

Arsenal will be keen to go one better than last season when their title challenge faded late in the season and ultimately saw them finish in second place. A return to the Champions League will have an impact, but last season saw Arsenal provide two of the six players to put up 200+ FPL points and a total of 10 players to hit triple-digit points. They're set to be a fantasy-friendly team again in the 2023/24 season.

Last Year's Arsenal Stats

  • League Finish: Second, 84 points
  • Most goals: Martin Ødegaard and Gabriel Martinelli, 15 goals
  • Most assists: Bukayo Saka, 12 assists
  • Most FPL Points: Martin Ødegaard, 212 FPL points

Who is your favorite Arsenal defender for the upcoming FPL campaign?

  • William Saliba, priced at £5.0m, could be the best value. He led Arsenal's defenders in points per game (4.3), despite having just three goal involvements. His injury was a big reason for Arsenal's late-season struggles. If he can chip in with a handful of goals this season, he could find himself a top-five points-scoring defender.

Which Arsenal midfielder is catching your eye?

  • The attacking trio of Ødegaard, Saka, and Martinelli are all eye-catching at their prices. Still, Saka's 26 goal involvements led the team, and his partnership with Ben White on the right side of Arsenal's attack flourished, something I expect to continue this season. As Arsenal's primary corner taker from the right side and their penalty taker, he has more routes to 200+ points again this season.

The Arsenal forward who will be bagging us some FPL points is...?

  • Gabriel Jesus is Arsenal's primary forward and will spearhead their attack again this season. He missed a significant part of the last campaign after suffering a knee injury at the World Cup but ranked fifth among all strikers in points per game (4.8).

What run of fixtures favors Arsenal the most for the 2023/24 FPL season?

  • There's no such thing as an easy game in the Premier League, but four of their first six games are at home, and four are against sides that finished 10th or lower. Gameweeks 19-22 are also favorable, especially given how difficult a period that can be for teams over the holiday season.

How many Arsenal players will you have in your Gameweek 1 squad?

  • I like to have at least two from the top teams, and Arsenal is no exception. I'll have one of their midfield trio, and Jesus looks like a sure bet for me at £8.0m. Depending on what I do on defense, I may look at a third Gunner to kick things off, given their opening fixtures.

What is one bold FPL prediction for any Arsenal player?

  • Kai Havertz is a top-10 midfielder in points scored. If I've heard correctly, Arsenal sees Havertz as playing in the Granit Xhaka role this season. Xhaka finished last season with 153 points (the 12th-most among midfielders), and Havertz is a naturally more attacking player. If that role is his and Xhaka does depart as expected, Havertz could end up being an FPL star.
