Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Brandin Cooks Injury Update

Houston Texans wide receiver Brandin Cooks will not play on Thursday night against the Philadelphia Eagles. Cooks missed practice this week for what the team described as personal reasons. He had hoped to be traded to a playoff contender at Tuesday's deadline, but it did not happen and he will not play in Week 9. Fantasy managers will need to move him to their benches.

With both Cooks and Nico Collins (groin) sidelined, Phillip DorsettChris Moore and Tyron Johnson will be the team's starting receivers, while tight ends Brevin JordanO.J. Howard and Jordan Akins figure to be more involved in the passing attack as well. And pass-catching running back Rex Burkhead could see plenty of short dump-off passes from quarterback Davis Mills.

Adam Thielen Injury Update

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen (knee) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. In last Sunday's win over the Arizona Cardinals, he suffered a knee contusion. The 32-year-old caught six of his seven targets for 67 yards in the Week 8 win. Overall, he has 35 catches for 351 yards and two touchdowns over seven games this season.

The veteran was added to Wednesday's injury report but is expected to play against the Cardinals. Thielen is a high-end WR3 against the Commanders in Week 9.

Dyami Brown Injury Update

Washington Commanders wide receiver Dyami Brown (groin) was removed from the injury report ahead of Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings. He missed the last two weeks due to a groin injury.

The 23-year-old has three catches for 111 yards and two touchdowns over six games in 2022. He could have an expanded role if Jahan Dotson (hamstring) is ruled out against Minnesota. Brown is a dart throw at best against the Vikings in Week 8.

Joshua Palmer Injury Update

Los Angeles Chargers head coach Brandon Staley said that wide receiver Joshua Palmer and Donald Parham Jr. are out of the league's concussion protocol. Both Palmer and Parham were out in Week 7 before having last week's bye to rest up, so they should both be active in Week 9 to face the Atlanta Falcons.

Mike Williams (ankle) remains on Injured Reserve and Keenan Allen (hamstring) is still being bothered by his hamstring injury, so Palmer could very well operate as the Bolts' top receiving on the road against Atlanta on Sunday morning. Getting Parham back this weekend will be big for LA as well, but he's not a realistic starting fantasy option with Gerald Everett as the No. 1 tight end.

Allen Lazard Injury Update

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Allen Lazard (shoulder) will practice on Wednesday, according to head coach Matt LaFleur. The veteran wide receiver missed last week's 27-17 loss to the Buffalo Bills because of a shoulder injury he suffered the week before. Lazard's return to practice is excellent news for fantasy players.

Last week he didn't practice at all and was ruled out for the matchup against the Bills. Furthermore, the former undrafted free agent from Iowa State mentioned how he heard a 'snap, crackle, and pop' when he injured his shoulder in Week 7. Assuming he practices again on Thursday and Friday, Lazard is an appealing flex option this week against the Detroit Lions.

Chuba Hubbard Injury Update

Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard (ankle) returned to practice on Wednesday. The second-year running back missed last week's 37-34 overtime loss to the Atlanta Falcons with the ankle injury. With Hubbard on the sideline, D'Onta Foreman had 118 rushing yards and three touchdowns against the Falcons.

While he missed last week's game, the former Oklahoma State star did get the start in Carolina's first game without Christian McCaffrey in Week 7. However, Foreman will likely be the starter again this week, given his performance against Atlanta. Yet, Hubbard is still a potential flex option this week against the Cincinnati Bengals.

James Conner Injury Update

Arizona Cardinals running back James Conner (ribs) and kicker Matt Prater (hip) were both limited in practice on Wednesday. Conner hasn't played since Week 5, and it remains to be seen if he'll play this weekend against the Seattle Seahawks. He'll likely have to practice in full later this week. Darrel Williams (hip) was placed on Injured Reserve, so if Conner misses another game, Eno Benjamin will once again see the lion's share of the backfield touches against Seattle.

Even if Conner is active on Sunday, he could operate behind Benjamin in his first game back. Prater returned last week and has been cleared for kicking duties moving forward, so expect to see him active in Week 9. The veteran kicker made both of his field goals and both extra points last week and will be a streaming option in deeper leagues this weekend

Keenan Allen Injury Update

UPDATE FRIDAY 11/4: Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 9 against the Atlanta Falcons. Believe it or not, Allen actually made his hamstring worse during the bye week while training and will miss yet another game after returning in Week 7 for the first time since the season opener.

It's been a trying year for Allen and his fantasy managers in 2022, and we can only hope he'll make it back in Week 10 to face the San Francisco 49ers. With Allen out again this weekend, Joshua Palmer and DeAndre Carter should see big roles in the passing game with Mike Williams (ankle) still on Injured Reserve. Palmer and Carter will both have upside as flex options for fantasy managers.

Cordarrelle Patterson Injury Update

Atlanta Falcons running back Cordarrelle Patterson (knee) was designated to return to practice off Injured Reserve on Wednesday following a left knee scope. It opens a 21-day window for the Falcons to officially activate Patterson from IR, but he's not guaranteed to return this weekend against the Los Angeles Chargers.

The 31-year-old versatile weapon last played in Week 4 and had 58 carries for 340 yards and three touchdowns and four receptions for 28 yards as the primary back before going on the shelf. Rookie Tyler Allgeier and Caleb Huntley have been splitting the backfield duties ever since, but Patterson should eventually reclaim lead-back duties in Atlanta when he's fully healthy. If for some reason Patterson remains available on your league's waiver wire, pick him up immediately.

Jonathan Taylor Injury Update

UPDATE 11/4:Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) has officially been ruled out for the Week 9 game against the New England Patriots. He's being called week-to-week and since the Colts look to be building for the future and perhaps boosting its draft position, they likely won't play Taylor unless he's close to 100-percent moving forward.

That said, Deon Jackson is the primary back while Taylor is out, especially since Nyheim Hines has been traded to the Buffalo Bills. Zack Moss came to the Colts in the deal, but he likely won't see a significant workload in his first game with the team. Jackson will face a tough matchup with the New England defense that has allowed the third-fewest fantasy points to running backs thus far.
